Sorry to hear the news of Zeus' knee injury. As I've already said, he's one of my favorite players, and he has normally been very durable outside of this freak injury.

Hope he comes back at full speed and has a great year for you next year.

The major loss here is Handzus, because he's gone for the whole season and was probably the Hawks' best defensive forward.

If they can weather the storm for the 2 weeks Havlat is out and the 1-2 weeks Khabby is out, they might be ok. But I'm not too confident.

Hawks down 3-0 in the second. Their lineup looks like they should be playing in the AHL with all the kids they've got in the lineup. At least we get to see what Bolland, Burish, Blunden have.

Agreed. After what I've seen so far tonight, my level of concern just jumped 2 or 3 notches. This is bad news.

This team isn't going to do anything without Havlat and Khabibulin. Getting embarassed tonight, 4-0 Canucks in the 2nd.

On behalf of Dallas Drake and Dennis Wideman, I apologize.

Heh.

Well, a 5-0 loss last night to drop to 4-5 on the season. It's a shame, because the Hawks/Ducks game on Saturday, a home game, is going to be televised, but the Hawks will likely get blown out against an Anaheim team that is 7-0-2.

This team's really on a downward sprial.

Ugh, the losses keep coming. Fourth straight dropped tonight, 3-0 to the Ducks on a televised home game for the Hawks. Only 14 shots on net total.

This team is really absolutely nothing without Havlat. I mean there were barely any scoring chances at all tonight. It's amazing that one guy makes that kind of a difference, but he does. It's been 7 periods without a goal for the Hawks now.

Since they're now saying Havlat will be out possibly until the end of November, I fully expect this team to be at the bottom of the league by December.

I was telling one of my friends about 2-3 weeks ago about Havlat being all the Hawks had on offense, and if he got hurt they would be in big trouble. She came up to me the other day and said, "I noticed the Hawks have been losing lately, did that guy get hurt or something?" I just nodded. This stinks.

Hard to believe how quickly it all collapsed. 7 minutes away from beating Dallas and moving to 5-2, then blowing the lead, losing Havlat, and then Handzus and Khabibulin the next night. Unbelieveable. Hard to blame Tallon or Yawney IMO for this, no team could lose their top 4 players (don't forget Ruutu) and still have much success.

Ruutu is supposed to return Monday, BTW.

no, embarassed is losing 9-1 to the Sabres and then 8-2 to the Penguins a week later.

Penguins seem to be building a very strong team for a long time. It wasn't that hard having the no-brainer draft picks they had, but still.

Just noticed Calder doesn't even have a point yet in 10 games. Ouch.

After losing to struggling Philly tonight, the Blackhawks have lost five straight games and have not scored in 205 minutes, 10 seconds.

They haven't scored in nine days and haven't won since October 18.

Pathetic.

It's almost comical at this point. Philly? Jeez, I thought even the Hawks could beat the Flyers, they way they've been playing.

What a mess. 4-7-0 on the year now, and falling. I really thought this year would be different, and it was, for six games anyways.

Hawks lose #7 in a row as the Red Wings score two 3rd period goals to win it, 2-1.

Rumor has it that Yawney could possibly be fired. This team needs a major shake-up.

Can't wait for Pulford to come back to the front of the line.

Rumors were Seabrook and Cullimore to NYR for Peter Prucha. I think Prucha might be a product of playing with Jagr, and I'd much rather hang on to Seabrook.

It's truly amazing how quickly this house of cards collapsed. We were what? 5-2 at one point?

Wow.

I guess when you try to climb out of a 100 foot hole, you're going to slip and fall a few times.

Unbelieveable that we're now just 2 points ahead of the worst team in the league, the Coyotes. The season looked quite promising through the first six or so games.

the Blackhawks are just the Cubs on skates and with sticks instead of bats. your top three players go down, you're going to have problems. however, for all the offensive woes, the defense is a fricken joke. Aucion or whatever his name is should have the C ripped off his sweater and be sent packing. giving up the puck constantly in his own end.

I went to my second game of the season last night and saw another outstanding goal tending performance. Boucher absolutely stood on his head the whole game and deserved better. the disparity in shots doesn't come close to showing how much the RedWings dominated this game.

Hawks just lost to said team in a shootout 2-1

3-2 was the final, but the point still remains. Another blown 3rd period lead for the Hawks.

A Bulls loss and a Hawks loss. And chances are the same thing will happen tomorrow night too...

Oh and does anyone know when Havlat and Khabibulin are coming back? It's nearly been a month since both of them have been out. We aren't too far out of the 8th spot yet either where we can still make a run, but we really need Havlat back ASAP.

I thought Havlat was skating in practice. But no, I don't really know. They keep acting like bulin is day-to-day or something. Yet he's been out for quite awhile.

It's almost like clockwork if the Hawks have a 1 goal lead they will blow it in the 3rd period. You could probably make a good deal of money off it if there was a way to put money on it.

Their chances of making the playoffs was slim with a healthy roster. Their chances are pretty much none now. After a relatively hot start, they are already 4 pts out of 8th and have 4 teams to leapfrog.

Khabi is supposed to start tonight (hopefully he plays well and gets traded for young scoring talent).

Havlat "skated hard for 90 minutes" and is "making real progress", no dates mentioned on a comeback. I'd bet not until December.

Hendzus had surgery and Tallon apparantly thinks he might come back in March.

Bourque has no timetable.
