Cedeno might need to spend 2007 in Iowa.

That's exactly what I was thinking-his performance this year, his winter performance, and the fact that the Cubs have an infielder in front of him if a second baseman is signed (Theriot) means that I think Cedeno has lost his spot even on the bench for 2007.

Unless his glove really comes around before ST, I think you're right.

Perry will work wonders with Cedeno, who needs to keep his hands inside and stop swinging at crap out of the zone. He makes pretty good contact in the strike zone.

I give Blanco credit for at least playing in a winter league and keping in shape. You really don't see a lot of major league players (non-rookies) do it. He could just as easily sit on his butt all winter.

I know Tejada plays as well.

I think a lot of the Dominican/Venezualen players take pride in playing in this leagues.

Yeah, they definitely do. This is the first year I've truly paid attention to the leagues and the box scores, and I'm stunned to see how many everyday big leaguers actually play there...and a lot of them don't use it just as a way to get in shape for a few weeks but play most of the winter season.

Ronny needs to start looking for homes in Des Moines.

Not that Hank White has done too much better.

Hank can still coast for a while on being the MVP of the Caribbean World Series. Or something.

But Ronny was Rookie of the Year last winter!

Last week, all the White Sox players in Venezula pulled out. Apparently the Tiburones had a mutual disagreement with coach Razor Shines about how much input Shines should have and so he left the team. In a sign of solidarity, the White Sox players (including Josh Fields, Ryan Sweeney and Sean Tracey) left the team. This apparently upset Ozzie Guillen because he wanted to see Josh Fields in the OF and never got that chance.
