I'm resigned to the fact that we're stuck with Izturis. He should bat no higher than eighth. When Zambrano pitches...he might should hit ninth.

Don't worry, Neifi will be back at the deadline. Izzy will be on the DL.

 

Couldn't we just use Theroit, or god forbid, even cedeno? Atleast they are cheaper.

 

In a pennant race? We're talking about Jim Hendry here. Looks like the Tigers will make the playoffs, and if they win the WS or Neifi makes any positive contribution whatsoever I can absolutely guarantee that Hendry will try to get Neifi back at the deadline next year if we are in contention.

 

I can absolutely argue I will shoot his head, if he does that.

You get to play GM in the offseason, and manager in '07. Who would you realistically get in the offseason, and then fill out your line-up card and bench for '07. Here's a chance for everybody to play with the budget, see who you can get, and go after your ideal team next year, do what you'd really want to do. . In my version I unload the contracts of Pierre Dempster and Rusch and go hard after Schmidt and Soriano with all the money that has been free'd up. .

I'm not going to calculate how expensive this team would be, but when I thought of a way to include Murton, along with having a middle lineup of Lee, Jones, Ramirez, Lee, I got excited at the thought of it. Any lineup with Carlos Lee in the 6 spot is a pretty good lineup....unless Baker is the manager, then he could just have him there to get Neifi and Macias some AB's.
