MNF went nuts over a few of Randle-El' punt returns, made me think of Devin Hester' TD yesterday. I would have liked to see Randle-El' in Blue and Orange but, I rather have Hester returning punts. If Hester gets by the initial wave of tacklers, he's gone, its 6, don't think Randle-El is that kind of a return threat.

Devin Hester is the best punt returner in the NFL.

And will be for a very long time. Hopefully in a Bears uniform too.

I think Hester is my favorite Angelo pick, simply because he usually goes

for low-floor type guys. But Hester's speed is amazing and I think

some of his issues at Miami can be blamed on the coaching staff.

I also think he will evntually be one of our starting corners.

I guess a knock on him is intelligence, but the cover-2 scheme for corners

is pretty basic in terms of responsibilites.

"It was stupid how close we were to putting 40 points on the board," Williams said.

Roy Williams may be mentally challenged. Which still puts him about 20 IQ points above Vince Young.

hester should be a third down back or line up in the slot on a few plays. his talent would be wasted on defense.

I disagree. I think that is one of the problems he had at Miami.

They kept switching his position. For now let him focus on returns and

his defensive back role.

If they were close to putting 40 up, just imagine how close we were to putting up 135 points

i think we should make his role "the guy who gets the ball in his hands, period".

You do have a point. Maybe throw in a couple end arounds for him.

Let last end-around I remember from the Bears was with Bobby Wade and

is blazing 4.6 speed....ugghh.

Early prediction:

Bears win 16-7

Roy Williams disagrees. He guaranteed a Lions' victory.

I love how he backed off soon after.

Some of those quotes in that article make me think he's mentally [expletive].

When we play the way we’re supposed to play, like our defense played the way they did Sunday … I don’t think there’s no team in this league that can beat us.”

What the hell's he smoking?

So he thinks that no one in the league can beat them if they play the way they did Sunday.

What was the result of that game, when they played the way they're supposed to?

I think it was just a poorly worded sentence. What I think he was trying to say is "If our offense plays the way it's supposed to play...if it plays as well as our defense did on Sunday...I don't think there's a team in this league that can beat us".

The problem is that he's using "we" to talk about the offense, and "us" to talk about the team.

Of course he's still nuts for making the comments in the first place.

Still no update on Hillenmeyer's "mild" concussion.

No, but I heard some others will be coming back from injury, most notably Mark Bradley.

The team is remarkably healthy right now. Lets hope it stays that way *knocks on wood*

I was very encouraged that Mike Brown was able to play and stay on the field all day Sunday after missing most of the preseason.

If Hunter can't go, I wouldn't be that upset to see Leon Joe in there.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – All seven Bears players on Wednesday’s injury report are listed as questionable for Sunday’s home opener against the Detroit Lions, meaning that they have a 50 percent chance of playing.

The group consists of defensive tackle Tommie Harris (ankle), linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer (head), safety Chris Harris (ankle), receiver Justin Gage (rib), defensive lineman Israel Idonije (ankle), tight end Gabe Reid (back) and fullback J.D. Runnels (ankle).

Of those players, only Chris Harris and Reid did not practice Wednesday. Gage wore an orange jersey during the workout, signifying that he is off-limits to contact.

That's what I like to see. No major injuries.

that's what i'm saying. give him the ball with defenders in front of him and tell him to get into the end zone. i don't think it would be that complicated for him. throw him a zero pass, give him an end around, heck, make him a decoy--good things will happen.

i don't necessarily agree with having him out there regularly, but if you can bring him in to either confuse the defense or make a big play, i don't know why that would be a bad thing.

Am I nuts for thinking that we can score on this team? I'm not sure this is going to be the low-scoring defensive struggle that I keep reading about. I'm probably thinking too highly of our offense after one nice outing, but I also think people may be thinking too highly of the Lions D after one nice outing. Carolina was without their best offensive player, and it was the first game of the season...lots of weird stuff happens in the first game of the season. Anyway, I'm going to say we win this 24-6. I don't think it's going to be as close as a lot of ppl think.

You're nuts for thinking they played Carolina ;)

brain fart. But how about those Falcons?? :D

Several underdogs took it to the favorites last week. It was good to see.

For a moment there, I even thought good old Dick Jauron was going to upset the Pats. But alas, no.....

Let's see how Detroit plays away from the turf----away from their home crowd. I've seen the Lions play well at home many times, but on the road they have generally been a junk team. They'll have to stick it to the beloved on our turf before I concede they have improved. *KNOCK ON WOOD* here's hoping they don't.
