All I know is it makes my life easier. I don't need to calculate the combined stats for starting pitchers who've been through 2 or more levels in the minors in one season.

Yeah, things like BABIP and BAA are still available only at minorleaguesplits.com.

 

I like that you can see a player's previous season stats on the MiLB.com page now.

BABIP and BAA can be estimated with great accuracy given a healthy amount of innings. 2.82*IP = Outs via AB.
