I'm going to assume that Eddie Johnson meant to kick Clint's goal back into the net but missed it wide because it's much funnier that way (and fitting for him).

Hoping this is all confidence going into Friday and not using it all up. The Jozy haters have no where else to go. Luckily none on this board.

I love that he scored twice, but there is no excuse for Clint (or Jones) to have played 90. That's asinine management.

Jones is so much more effective when he can be the athletic disruptor and Mike Bradley the calm distributor. Everything just fits better when he's in there.

Bradley's the engine. He really makes everything flow far better.

If you, like me, are all amped up for more soccer, NE v LAG on NBC Sports right now.

I like the crowd NER have there. It helps that they're playing better ball right now than at any point the last few years.

I wish Diego Fagundez were a citizen. He's really good.

The Fire look 100% better than they did early in the season. I've seen more legitimate offensive opportunities(and as many goals) in 20 minutes of this second half than I did in 2 games from the first month of the season.

His family are permanent residents so he can become one anytime, right?

I'm not positive. I do know he doesn't have a green card; thankfully he's 17, so if he wants to start the process now (or marry an American girl) we have time.

DC are dreadful, though. The Fire really need some sort of creative force in the midfield; they have too many water carriers right now and it shows.

What's Brek Shea's short and long term future for the Nats?

Long term, if he gets healthy again, I think he starts. He's been either hurt or out of form for most of the past two years, though. Short term, I'm not sure.

I'm pumped for Friday and more so for next Tuesday!

I'll settle for six points, I'll be pleased with seven points and I really want nine points. Nine points would also put us on the verge of being in. We'd be at 13 points with Mexico and Jamaica at home and Panama and Costa Rica on the road. 16 has been enough for third every year in the Hex. And with how many draws there have already been, 16 will certainly be enough this year.

For comparison, there were:

5 draws in 2010 (16 tied for 3rd & 4th)

4 draws in 2006 (16 was 3rd, 13 was 4th)

6 draws in 2002 (17 was 3rd, 14 was 4th)

13 draws in 1998 (14 was 3rd, 12 was 4th)

This year, we've seen 5 draws in nine games. So if we get three wins here, we're all but guaranteed 4th and would just need a win to likely get third.

He'll be a factor depending on health and his club situation leading up to this World Cup and probably a starter in Russia unless some young player comes up and exceeds expectations like a Marc Pelosi or some other left sided MF currently not on the senior squad radar.

Next season is absolutely critical to his development though.
