Juve's 49-match unbeaten run in Serie A ended with a 3-1 home loss to Inter today. They were nine games shy of Milan's Serie A record of 58, which ran from the 90-91 season into the 92-93 season.

City's corner kick defense is terrible. Two corners in the first 17 minutes and City has four more players in the box plus Joe Hart and yet Ajax are the first to touch both crosses and scored twice.

That is not a favorable draw. We're going to end up with 3 points through the first three matchdays.

35 goals in eight games + epic Celtic win over Barcelona = a fun UCL day.

San Jose went out like pretenders last night; cheap, dirty Lenhart antics and Wondo missing chance after chance. Big time players made big time plays. Donovan and Keane were a class above.
Posted

Omar Gonzalez finally deciding he'd had enough of Lenhart's crap and tossing him around and knocking him on his ass all night was the best.

Also, I compiled a list of strikers who didn't suck last night. Not making the list were CJ Sapong, Will Bruin, whatever that was that subbed in for Will Bruin that found itself in the worst 2v1 in the history of soccer, Edson Buddle, Wondo, Lenhart, and whatever Swede LAG put in that blew like 4 chances to put the game away.

Basically, only Kei Kamara (?!?), Keane and Landon were good.

Very much looking forward to some more hot, hot MLS action tonight.

That would be Swedish bum, Christian Wilhelmsson of "hey look, another blond guy that is tall and looks like all the other guys playing for Sweden except Ibra" fame.

He's got an edge to him. I like it. He's the best defender in the league and he plays like he knows it. A little floppy last night, but it worked.

It's gonna be real good. NY should win by two goals, but I'm going DC 1-0 win because I don't believe in Backe, I don't believe in NYRB's D and I believe in Ben Olsen.

RSL-Sea have scored 1 goal in 4 games, all season vs each other. EJ is supposed to play, Kreis is going to try and ride Morales one last time, but Gil is the superior play maker at this point. I don't know how to call this one. Seattle are way more talented, but Jason Kreis and RSL, like Arena and the Galaxy and Dom Kinnear and the Dynamo, know how to win in the playoffs.

Jurgen was at White Hart Lane today. Clint didn't come on until the 82nd minute, though.

This game is the best thing ever. It has everything. A classic idiot Marquez move. A blown PK after a completely correct encroachment call. A total "seeeee laaaa perdioooo" from McCarty.
