Why is Mabry hitting ahead of Barrett?

My only guess is Dusty looks at numbers and doesn't recognize sample size.

Barrett 1-7 against Kim coming into taday's game.

Mabry 1-1 against Kim coming into today's game.

Nice AB by Pierre. Took a called second strike when he was ahead in the count looking for the BB. Pulled the next pitch for a single.

Ok seriously, why the Joe Buck commercial? I have yet to get a satisfactory answer as to why we need that.

They think we don't get enough of him announcing all through baseball and football season? :? I could do without him myself.

He's on the list of famous people I'd like to punch in the face.

Baker: Dude, Kimm has yet to get Mabry out so he's gotta be out there.

Dusty said he moved Barrett down in the order because it was a day game after a night game.

Kim has been much more effective against righties than lefties this year.

Dusty will rarely sit a player like Jones who struggles against lefties, but he will stack a lineup against an opposing pitcher with extreme splits.

So he didn't think Barrett would be effective offensively today?

Len points out that the Cubs have played very well against the NL Central.

MacPhail's plan of competing within the division is clearly working. Now Hendry just needs to fill some holes with players who play well against the NL West and East. Maybe we sign a core group of players who kill NL Central teams and fill the bench with guys who can hurt the Braves, Dodgers, etc.

Pirates have just completed the sweep of the Cardinals winning 7-0.

Cubs need to stop winning the occasional game if they want to surpass the Pirates in fecal league standings.
