I think they'll be calling up a pitcher, instead. Izturis takes Walker's spot. They'll call up a pitcher to take Maddux' spot.

Probably Aardsma again.

I don't believe Aardsma can come back yet.

Guzman, Ryu, Williams, or they add somebody to the 40-man and bring him up.

Hendry was just in the booth and stated that they'll call up a pitcher tomorrow and he, Dusty, and Larry will decide after the game. He said that they have two in mind. And it seemed as if Glendon would get the start Thursday (vomit).

I don't get it... Why do Rusch and Perez get SO many reprieves, but Murton doesn't? Murton has been one of the better hitters on the team in terms of OBP and Average and he sits on the bench often and is knocked for his defense. Walker's defense was knocked... Yet they are two of the more consistent pieces to the anemic offense.

Neither Theriot nor Aardsma can come back yet; neither has been down for the required 10 days. Rusch is NOT an option regardless of the drivel coming out of Hendry's mouth. The only move that makes sense to me is to bring up Guzman to start Thursday.

One positive about tonight's game: Rusch is now pitching in relief, so he's out of the equation as far as starting Thursday is concerned. Mr. Guzman, your table is ready.

Theriot was called up a week ago when Lee went back on the DL (and of course hasn't played). I doubt he's getting called up.
That's right; I'd forgotten about that (him being glued to the bench made it easy to forget). I remembered him being sent down when Prior was activated.

I'd like to see Ryu get another shot. Williams is an AAAA pitcher and is never going to amount to anything more than a .500 pitcher with a 5.00 ERA at best. Yea, Ryu got hammered in his first start, but part of that has to be accounted to nerves. Not only was it his first game, but he's foreign, and probably has never in his life played in front of so many people.

Frankly, I don't care which pitcher gets called up as long as Glendon Rusch doesn't start anymore. Whether it's Guzman, Williams, Ryu, or O'Malley (just throwing it out there), I don't care.

Like it or not we have an investment in Rusch so he's going to get some work. I cast my ballot for just releasing the guy, but if that's not going to happen, maybe he makes more sense as a spot 5th starter to let the AAA guys get some work. Not like we're going anywhere this year anyway.
