*Take Mesa's probable starter with a grain of salt as they shuffle their pitchers from the rotation to the pen with frequency. It's especially problematic predicting who'll start when the previous day's game is rained out.

Ryan Bicondoa is making his Cubs system debut. The Jaxx face (in my opinion) the top pitching prospect in the game, Homer Bailey.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, just move them to the California League. I say kick out the Angels' High-A team in Rancho Cucamonga and move in. O:)

I've said it before and I'll agree to that move if and only if the Jaxx take Frisco's spot in the Texas League.

Holliman gave up 3 runs (1 unearned) to Clearwater in the first, but has held them scoreless the last 2 innings. Sam Fuld hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd to make it a 3-2 Clearwater lead after 3.

WT and Chattanooga are scoreless midway through 2. The Jaxx have gotten 2 hits off Homer Bailey (singles by Walker and Dope).

Clearwater is up 4-3 in the middle of the 5th. Holliman's recent struggles continue as he didn't get out of the 5th: 4+ IP, 3 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K.

Peoria and Western Michigan are scoreless after 3.

My box score has Clearwater up 8-3. Mendez came in after Holliman and gave up 3 unearned runs and a long ball.

Yeah, I needed to refresh my box score. The DH, Jon-Mark Sprowl, pitched the top of the 6th and (I think he was the one who gave up the run) gave up 1 run. It's now 9-3 in the bottom of the 6th. Remember, they only go 7 in DHs.

WT and Chattanooga are scoreless in the 4th. Federico Baez was ejected (no clue why), he went 2.2 scoreless and hitless innings. EPatt managed the Jaxx' 3rd hit and Walker also got a HBP, but otherwise, nothing doing against Homer.

Daytona now down 12-6 going to the bottom of the 7th.

West Michigan scored 1 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th and are now leading Peoria 4-0 after 4.

Daytona loses game 1, 12-6.

Jaxx are scoreless through 5. Holdzkom doing a good job in relief for Baez as he has pitched 2 and 1/3 scoreless, while only giving up 1 hit and 2 walks so far. Homer Bailey has given up 4 hits through 5.

Peoria is down 4-1 now in the 6th.

Homer Bailey's night is over: 6 IP, 0 R, 5 H, 2 BB, HBP, 8 K. It's 0-0 in the Jaxx game at the 7th inning stretch. Baez and Holdzkom have stepped it up big time today to keep it up with Bailey.

Bicondoa with a quick, impressive first inning in the Cubs system (a K sandwiched by 2 groundouts).

Peoria now down 6-1 in the 9th.

Six up, six down against Bicondoa, and he has 2 Ks to boot. In the bottom of the 2nd, Alan Rick follows a Matt Craig single with an approximate 450-foot 2-run HR, his 2nd HR of the DH. Daytona leads it 2-0.

Peoria scored 4 in the 9th, but still lost 6-5. Taylor was charged with the loss as he went 7, allowing 5 hits, 4 ER's, 2 BB's, 1 K. He gave up 2 long balls. Estrada pitched the 8th and allowed 2 hits, 2 ER's, 0 BB's, and struck out 1. Unfortunately for Peoria, those 2 runs were the difference in the game. Kyle Reynolds was 1/3 with a double, 2 RBI's, a walk, and a run scored. Valdez was 1/4 with a double and a run scored. Gregg was 1/5 with 2 RBI's. Ryan Norwood, Robinson Chirinos, and Mark Reed each had 1 single for Peoria.

www.wnws.com the website is working.. you might have to download something, but I can get it on my laptop.

Anytime I try it just gets stuck on buffering...never do get audio though. I downloaded the Abacast deal that it asked me to awhile ago and it has worked in the past.
