Probable Starters:

Iowa: LHP Ryan O'Malley (5-6, 4.05 ERA, 97.2 IP, 63/21, 1.36 WHIP) @ RHP Adam Bass (6-0, 4.44 ERA)

West Tenn: RHP Juan Mateo (7-4, 2.70 ERA, 86.2 IP, 65/24, 1.13 WHIP) @ LHP Tyler Pelland (6-3 3.35 ERA)

Daytona: RHP Mark Holliman (7-6, 4.25 ERA, 103.2 IP, 91/47, 1.26 WHIP)

Peoria: RHP Joel Santo (6-6, 5.38 ERA, 92 IP, 48/54, 1.63 WHIP @) LHP Luke French (9-4, 3.12 ERA)

Boise: LHP Mark Pawelek (0-3, 3.38 ERA, 21.1 IP, 17/11, 8 HBP, 1.36 WHIP) @ RHP Mike Wagner (2-2, 4.55 ERA)

Mesa: RHP Marco Carillo (2-0, 2.55 ERA, 17.2 IP, 11/4, 1.25 WHIP)

*Take Mesa's probable starter with a grain of salt as they shuffle their pitchers from the rotation to the pen with frequency.

Joel Santo is making his Cub farm debut after coming over in the Williamson trade. Luke French, who is pitching against the Chiefs today, took a no-hitter into the 9th before losing it, his last time out.

Uhh, Mesa's game has supposedly been rained out. Even though there's not a drop of rain in the Valley of the Sun right now and the other two games in the Valley are going as scheduled. Color me skeptical.

The Jaxx are down 3-0 through 4. They've only had 3 baserunners so far; Dopirak twice (walk and a double), and a walk by Lewis. Mateo got roughed up a bit in the 2nd but his overall line isn't horrible: 4IP, 4H, 3R, 2/1 K/BB, 5/5 GO/FO.

6-4 is the final, Campusano gets the win with a 1-2-3 9th!

The Jaxx 2 back of Chattanooga again with 2 more games left in this series.

Huge win indeed for the Jaxx. Good outing for Mateo after bouncing back from that 3-run 2nd as well.

Campusano continues to be lights out after his double promotion from Peoria:

17.1 IP, 17 H, 2.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, .246 BAA, 24 Ks, 3 BBs. The only major concern are that opponents are getting approximately twice the hits against him at AA as compared to low-A.

Also, lefties are hitting .333 against him in 18 West Tenn ABs, which is a tad disappointing. Lefties hit .130 against him at Peoria in 24 ABs.

Notes from the Wilken interview:

-Samardzija- loves his athleticism and competetiveness, upside

-Malone- Saw him last year in Cape Cod and did quite well, struggled at FSU but saw he was available at the end of the draft and took him, possible utlity guy at second and third

-Mentioned Papelbon

-Colvin- standing by the pick 100%

-Lansford- good fielder, chance to be above average hitter down the road

-Back in the day, might have taken two weeks to get a list of guys who have been drafted in an area

-Says the vineline is a good place to follow the minors, milb.com, different "blogs"
