Here's what cubs.com has to say about the upcoming rotation.

 

The Cubs have set their starting rotation for the next three days, but that's it. Rookie Juan Mateo will start Sunday followed by Rich Hill on Monday and Ryan O'Malley on Tuesday.

that seems fair, you can't argue that he didn't earn at least one start, regardless of who he is.

As I said in the other thread, there is no harm at all in giving O'Malley a few starts at the Major League level to give him a shot to show what he can do. The Cubs aren't doing anything this year and they need to see what they have for next year. By giving him a few starts they can find out if he will be in the plans for next year or not.
