Does anyone know how much teams collect and how much they typically pay for insurance for players? I think they collect over 90% when a player is injured. Depending on how much they pay for each player to have this insurance and what exactly it covers, it's probably a flat out lie to say the Cubs are or have spent anywhere close to 100 million a year on players.

It all depends on the policy and usually players have to miss entire seasons for the team to collect. It's not likely the Cubs have collected anything on the players hurt this year.

Yep they do have to miss the whole entire season (to the fullest extent of my knowledge). What if a player goes down right now and is gone for the season though?
