I got back from Houston late last night, and it was a good trip despite the Cubs losing the last two games.

A few highlights/lowlights.

1. Monday night's game was a blast. Zambrano was fantastic. In the 7th, I was so excited I was trying to get the people in the seats near me to let me have their ticket stubs.

2. I did very well on getting autographs. I even was able to get Neifi to sign my ball. The best was Aramis signing my jersey though. I think that was the highlight. I also met Juan Pierre's sister.

3. Scott Eyre is hilarious. While signing autographs down the left field line on all three games, he spent time to talk with the fans. He is extremely gregarious. He's the type of player that is easy to cheer for.

4. It seems every time I'm in Houston for a Cubs game, I end up getting a non-baseball player on a baseball. Last year, it was Dirk Nowitzski. Yesterday, I'm sitting in my seat (great seat---8 rows above the Astros ondeck circle) and in five rows in front was Karl Malone. After the game, he signed a baseball for me and was very friendly.

5. Watching the Cubs lose two of the games was bad. Of course, I really don't get Astro fans who shouted "1908" at me and a few other Cub fans. Someone remind me the last time the Astros won a World Series? Oh, that's right...they haven't.

6. Marshall was brillant yesterday. The lone homerun was the only mistake. Too bad, we can't have Zambrano in the line-up everyday. We might actually score some runs.

7. I now know where Adam Dunn goes drinking when in town. I may have to make another road trip.

Nice. Fun part of being a fan is doing what you do on your trips. Keep that Neifi ball. There must be some value in having the autograph of the player known to some as the worst hitter of all-time.

Both Eyre and Ohman were a riot when I was at the Cubs/Braves game that Neifi blew. Ohman even hammed it up for a photo op for a gal in the front row. Fun guys.

Actually Neifi's autograph is on the team ball...which is very crowded with 29 sigs on it.

And I was all excited about my ball with just Sean Marshall and Matt Murton... :P

Speaking of photo-ops, one guy asked Eyre to take a picture with his girlfriend. Eyre was giving the really big "cheesy" smile and the guy said you don't have to smile so big...Eyre responded "She's cute, I'm enjoying this."

At one point when I thanked Eyre for taking up so much of his time, he said, "Ahh it's nothing. I'm just a crappy middle reliever."

He also took a pride in saying Dempster couldn't prove he pied him in the face, but then said, "It sure is great getting the team's biggest practical jokester on national tv."

Eyre would definitely be a great guy to have around at a party.I'm considering getting a Scott Eyre Cubs jersey.

He hurt Derrek Lee

Blame Furcal. It's much more therapeutic, especially with Furcal having turned down the Cubs in the offseason.

Congrats on all the other positives of the trip, but what/where is this establishment you speak of?

Even better - you have sigs of the one of the worst Cubs teams of all-time!

It's located on McGowan in Houston.

Glad you had a good time.

No way we should have lost the final game. It's a disgrace to waste such a good performance from the kid. Shame on those guys. Shame, I say!
