i haven't seen too many threads of late noting that jones is absolutely killing the ball and that his average is at .310. what gives...are cubs fans only good for dwelling on the negative? is his performance driving everyone crazy who made a habit of coming on here and ranting about how he was the worst signing and should be benched for pie?

wow. really unneccesary.

 

Jones is doing great and I love it. I still expect he'll end up somewhere near where he's been for the last two year though. He's been a streaky hitter in the past.

 

I still strongly believe that it was a poor signing, but since he's here, of course I'm rooting for him. For you to insinuate otherwise is pretty idiotic. Also, I'm certain there have been some other threads praising Jones' recent hot hitting.

perhaps you should re-read my post. i said "i haven't seen TOO MANY threads..." so thank you for pointing out the 6 threads among hundreds that have discussed jones' resurgence. i always hate it when people make my point by trying to counter it.

Perhaps you should re-read my post as well! I said those were "just from the first page of the Baseball Discussions forum. I didn't go through hundreds of threads, and neither did you to see how many there were. You've made no point on this thread, other than you want to give us all a nice "I told you so". not at all, but the number of "negative" posts far outweights the number of positive posts. my point is that the guy is taking far more grief than praise.

I was just going to comment on hill's impressive AAA numbers & the post was locked, so I'll take it here...

 

Good to see Hill bouncing back. This should help his trade value.

Hill received a demotion to Iowa after going 0-4 with a hideous 9.31 ERA over four starts for the Chicago Cubs. Now, he's bidding to once again make it to the Major Leagues. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old left-hander allowed just two hits over seven shutout innings as Iowa edged Nashville, 2-1. Even more impressively, he struck out 14 batters without issuing a walk. Hill has logged 44 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level and has struck out 61 batters while walking just nine in that span. Is a return trip to Chicago in his future?

My only fear with Jones is that he'll regress once Lee is back. What we actually need is for him to continue hitting, Lee to hit, and A-Ram to get his A-Head out of his, well, you get it
