That's another thing I'm tired of. It's too easy to keep laying and fighting off pitches when they are continuously thrown in the EXACT SAME SPOT. I'm not advocating throwing down the mddle but throw one inside to keep them honest. Farns was killed on this exact same philosophy when he was here (the infamous Julio Franco at bat)

 

The coaching staff is not a good pitching staff. They have young pitchers constantly try to stay on the corners and pitch to spots.

I'm sorry, but with that second thought in mind, and the fact that Marshall had one 1-2-3 inning, you HAVE to PH, especially given that he couldn't sac bunt before, and we're only up by two runs.

On sunnydoo's comment, I could understand that line of reasoning. Howerver, Baker contradicted himself when he yanked Marshall after ONE curveball got away from him. If Baker was going to have him on that short of a leash then he should have pinch hit for him. Sean pry wasn't going to get through that inning unscathed regardless.

Not only that, but they repeated it several times, and even had a video montage of Marshall missing his bunt, Cedeno messing up the squeeze, and then Rolen driving in 2...showing how the inning had turned the game around. Great way to highlight the Cubs ineptitude.
