As for Jones, he was overpaid, but I'll reserve my wrath on him until the All-Star break -- I think he's just now settling in, but he's not worth the contract. Remember, some of you were complaining about Lee's worth during his first year here, too.

Oh, give me a break.

Seriously. You are going to try and compare Jones and Lee and their worth to this team, now or ever? Lee was still a good player who was young. He just wasn't an elite hitter. Jones blows.

Give yourself a break. What are you talking about?

Lee was ripped on here in 2004 and so was Hendry for signing him. Remember all the posters who computed the OPS that Lee would have to beat Choi by in order to justify his contract? Offensively, I think Jones is a below average corner outfielder. He is overpaid; however, I'm not going to blame him for putting up numbers and playing a stupid brand of baseball, like getting picked off bases and overthrowing cutoff men, this is what I thought he'd do up to this point. But he still could have a good (albeit it would be a career year) year after his slow start.

Personally, I think we are fighting over which pig is more cute, the one with the blue dress or the one with the red one. Pierre, Jones, and Patterson are all a joke in their own special way, and average at best. Hendry can't pick talent, can't manage a roster, and lives on hopes and dreams more than he does skills. All three of these players are average, so should any of us be surprised at the result we get on the field against a really fine team like the White Sox? I should say not. The Cubs will always be average, too, as long as they live with this kinda philosophy. Everyone sees it but the team...amazing.

He never would have performed this well if he stayed in Chicago this season.

Completely agree. Between the fans booing him and the coaches questioning him and the high expectations that were set for him, Corey could only realize his potential somewhere else. I do hope he ends up figuring things out and puts up something along his 2003 line.

Don't blame the fans. It's an indictment of the Cub organization.

If players can't handle the fans booing, that's *ALSO* an indictment of the organization.

Fans boo. Good players deal with it fine. And good organizations breed good players who deal with it fine.

It all points back to one inescapable fact: our organization reeks to high heaven. That's why we are where we are. And that's why Corey has a shot of resurrecting his career somewhere else, where he had no chance in Chicago.

Yeah , his 289 obp and 700 ops are awsome. Jones is 100 plus . JP has stunk , we will see how his obp turns out for the season compared to cp. If you hate thats fine. But the facts are CP stinks compared to J J . Coach L

Huh? CP's OBP is in the .320's (and, at this point, is above Jones's). It couldn't have changed that much since Friday. And Jacque's OPS is slightly higher, .787 vs. .771... Not sure where you got your numbers from...

EDIT - Guess it could've changed that much, since CP had great days Friday and Saturday. Still, just goes to show that the sample sizes still aren't that big.
