Talk about a trade

Well my source is only good if it has to do w/the Pirates and even then it is iffy. Just thought I'd share that it looked like something might happen. Let's hope it does.

I doubt the Pirates trade Wilson at this point. And if they were to trade him to the Cubs at this point, it would take more than Hill and filler.

Maybe Hendry is trying to work out the details of the trade so he can figure out if which of Restovich/Bynum to DFA. If the Pirates take Bynum perhaps they'll just DFA him tonight because wouldn't the Cubs have 10 days to try to trade Bynum?

There is some buzz about an imminent trade w/the Pirates Cubs send Hill and one of Coats/Hairston/Bynum for Craig Wilson. It isn't a sure thing but could happen as soon as tomorrow.

No one wants Conine, or Millar, or anyone's leavings, trake value for value, get a player that can be used for several years, or bring up soneone like COATS

 

Pie or Coats should be brought up anyways, just to replace slappy Pierre. We still would need a big bat.

 

Wait, so you want the team to score even fewer runs than it already does? It's a wonderful idea to replace the guy leading the team in Runs scored.

Have you thought to consider how many runs a good hitter would have scored in Pierre's place?

I really don't see why the Pirates would worry about who would play first base. Their season is over. They are 15 under .500, 12.5 out of first, 11 out of the wild card, and worst of all, behind the Marlins. Who cares who plays first? If they can get some quality in return for a guy, they'd be foolish not to deal. Potential financial benefits also help. Let Joe Randa play first. Let Jose Hernandez, he already has a couple outings there this year. Make the Cubs include a body that can fill time there. It doesn't matter. Get a 3-way deal that sends Matt Stairs back over there. He and Burnitz together would be funny.

Plus Pitt would be dealing from a position of strength seeing as how desperate the Cubs are to score runs.
