To come back to Houston this year to pitch.

Houston Chronicle

If Roger Clemens wants to play in Houston again, it's clear the Astros are ready to start negotiations with the future Hall of Famer with the parameters of at least $18 million for this season in a pro-rated deal based on when he returns.

Per Major League Baseball's rules, the Astros were barred from negotiating with Clemens from Dec. 8 until today because they opted against offering him salary arbitration by Dec. 7.

Last year, Astros owner Drayton McLane gave Clemens $18,000,022, the most ever given a pitcher for one season. According to a person close to the negotiations, the club is prepared to start the negotiations with Clemens' representatives at the rate of no lower than $18 million per season on a one-year deal.

That's disgusting. I don't care how good he is NOBODY's worth that kind of money. I guess Rocket hasn't gained any integrity with age.

I'm sure you wouldn't take the money.
