In one of my leagues I had drafted Maddux. I had some good pitchers and was unsure about Maddux so he was on the bench to start the season. Superstition and stuff I kept him there cuz u know the instant I put him in the lineup he'd give up 40 runs in 1 1/3 IP. I am not doing so hot in this league, it is one of my worst, if not the worst. So right now it is awfully tempting to start him. What do I do?

Well, when I play fantasy, I usually try to make it a point to play my best players.

Interesting. You're saying that playing your best players may help you win?

believe it or not, what you do with greg maddux on your fantasy team has nothing to do with how he performs on the field...despite the seemingly overwhelming evidence to the contrary that most of us experience.

I'm not buying it.

Confession: During my last draft on yahoo I picked Derrek Lee for the first time. Less than a week later he breaks his wrist.

Yahoo Fantasy is out to get me.

I like to have Cubs on my fantasy teams; I get satisfaction of doing well when Cubs do well. In my Yahoo league I've got Cedeno, Walker, Barrett, Maddux, Zambrano, and Dempster on my team. And that team is 25-5 after three weeks (including 10-0 last week and 9-1 the previous week) and in first place out of 16. So my good fortune with Maddux would easily cancel out any bad karma if you add him. :D
