According to Gameday, Iowa started the top of the 6th with three walks by Fontenot, Deardorff, and Sing, but Fontenot ended up falling off the face of the earth (the log shows him getting thrown out at third, though). The I-Cubs failed to take advantage of another great scoring opportunity.

Ryu is probably done after 103 pitches. 5 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 5 K.

Pinto finished with 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K

Iowa returns to Des Moines tomorrow to start a nice homestand, by the way. All of the I-Cubs' home games on carried on MiLB.tv and are free for the rest of the month.

Was Pie just getting a day of rest?

I haven't been listening, but I'd imagine so. They're in a stretch of 20 straight days without a day off to start the season. After a day off on Wednesday, they'll play 21 games in 20 straight days without a day off.

Not many off days in the minors. Especially at AAA, apparently.

Anyone know anything on Nic Jackson's progress. He seems to be hitting fairly well. Hopefully this bodes well for him to move up the system and rebound. I always had a soft spot for the guy.

Also, 4 HR for Harvey is a good sign this early.

Whatever problem Wells has, he's not past it yet, and whatever source suggested he'd pitch today is wrong. Paul Schappert starting the game for the Jaxx. O well.

Sorry, I used the link Jon provided as I didn't have anything else to go with. It's definitely not the first time Jon has been wrong.

Yeah, I'm a big Nic Jackson fan too. He has only played in 14 games over the last two seasons, so I'm not sure how quickly he'll move back up.
