Opening night Nightmare (Dopirak)

The x-rays are back on Brian Dopirak and the news is not good. Brian suffered a broken foot, he will be lost for at least six weeks.

When he planted his foot rounding second base, he landed very awkwardly on it. He limped back to second and then advanced to third base on a single by Montanez. He should have scored, but barely got to third. That's when I knew something was wrong.

 

Honestly, I thought it would be a light sprain. Just an awful way to start the season (even though we have looked good through the first two games).

Yeah, when I heard he was limping into third, I really didn't expect it to be a foot problem, let alone a serious one. That's a real blow for Dope.

I guess we should look at the bright side of things. Now he's got 6 weeks to sit down, and really take a look at his game. He can breakdown film to see mechanical flaws or weaknesses and try to correct them. He can also work on pitch selection while he's out. Most people think that doesn't make much sense, but now is a great time for him to look at his game in-depth. He can study his flaws and try to start fixing them without jumping into the cage and trying to over do it. I'm sure he and Von Joshua will make these next 6 weeks very fruitful, even if they're not spent on the field.
