MLB Gameday Audio @ work?

I subscribe to MLB Gameday audio and I'm unable to launch the Flash embedded player at work. Has anyone found a workaround for those of us who can't load the content in the player? Is it possible to get a URL that I can copy and paste directly into Windows Media Player? If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

I had that problem last year. I used an old version of real player and it worked okay.

 

Now, I can't even access websites with sports related names. . . . . .stupid work firewall!

Unfortunately I don't have any control over the applications on my PC and all I have is Windows Media Player, but I'm unable to find any URL's to open for the streaming broadcasts.

I can't stream any real media feeds from work, but I can get MLBTV though...

 

I'm gonna be POd if in a week they figure it out and block that feed too...

 

 

The only other alternative I can think of off of the top of my head is maybe stream the feed at home, and use slingbox to feed it to your work? Your firewall might not catch that, and you can use one of several remote programs to control your home PC from work. This could leave your computer at home more vulnerable to wanker hackers though.

My problem isn't that the stream is blocked, but that the popup window with the embedded Media player comes up completely blank. I need some way to load the stream directly into Media Player without using the popup on the MLB site.

Slingbox is a little expensive when all I want is streaming audio. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative for audio streaming from my home PC?

Do you have FireFox at work? If not, can you get it? With Firefox you can force popups to open in a new tab.

Can't get firefox (blocked by the company). I think I'm pretty much screwed. I just can't download the new media player without authorization.

No Firefox here either. I have Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player, those are my only options.

They have some technical troubleshooting FAQs on gameday audio configuration, if you haven't checked those out. If the issue is just getting the url to plug in to your computer's media player, you may just have to ask for it from someone who's also listening to the game on gameday audio. Sounds like you also have to be currently logged in through MLB.com in order to get it to work.
