Dusty now says he might not make a decision on the starting second baseman untill the last week of spring training, according to Paul Sullivan*

 

Mar 10 The Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan reports Chicago Cubs MAN Dusty Baker may not decide on his starting second baseman until the final week of spring training. Currently, 2B Todd Walker, IF Jerry Hairston Jr. and IF Neifi Perez have a bead on the position

 

Is the decision really that hard?

I haven't looked at spring stats yet, but if neither Todd Walker nor Jerry Hairston, Jr. can't statistically demolish Neifi then neither one of them deserves to start. Give it to Theriot. :D
