Moore is hands down the best defensive 3B in the league. He gets to balls that 95% of 3B in all of baseball don't get to. I have no idea where this whole thing started with Moore not that good at third. Truth be told, he might be one of the best defensive 3B in ALL of baseball (Majors included).

Mateo has got an explosive fastball, but Bailey's is better. I just think that because he was just called up, not many teams have seen him.

The pitching rotation for the Carolina series is:

Friday: RHP Sean Gallagher

Saturday: LHP Chris Shaver

Sunday: RHP Issac Pavlik

Monday: RHP Federico Baez

Tuesday: LHP J.R. Mathes

I'm glad Gallagher isn't scheduled to start the Sunday game. That's the game in the series I'd be least likely to go to, since it will be played in the heat of the afternoon (although it does sound like the heat wave is expected to back off a little by then).

Hey Ron,

Ed Campusano hasn't pitched since that 20-inning game he left due to an injury. At the time, you had hypothesized that it was a back injury. Is that what it was? And will he be returning soon?

I just read that Federico Baez left the Jaxx for an Olympic team, is that correct?
I doubt he'd be leaving for an Olympic team. This isn't an Olympic year, and baseball is no longer an Olympic sport anyway. Perhaps it's for some other tournament.

Sorry, it was an Olympic trial team.

Baseball is being pulled from the Olympics starting in 2012. It will still be part of the next Olympics.

I knew it was being pulled from the Olympics; I just forgot when.

baseball is still an Olympic sport in 2008. That's why Baez is on the inactive list. Hopefully, he leads Puerto Rico to an Olympic berth.
