South Carolina beats Evansville 4-2 earlier this afternoon, and then defeats Virginia 8-2 this evening. They will play the Evansville-Virginia winner tomorrow evening and attempt to win their Regional.

College of Charleston beats Ball State 11-0 and will play the UK-Ball State winner tomorrow.

A nice day for my teams. :D

Pepperdine wins 3-2. Unearned runs, :x

Woulda been fun to go against all you Mizzou folk.

There's still time. A Mizzou win and UCLA loss gives us the matchup.

And that's what happened. Mizzou and UCLA go at it at for the right to try to beat Pepperdine twice in a row, with the first being later that day. Projected starters are Freshman Rick Zagone for Mizzou and Junior Tyson Brummett for UCLA.

Good thing it's a double elimination tournament.

What, an 11-0 drubbing wasn't enough? You want to come back for more?! :P

Yes, but Kentucky had other ideas. :(

I think you have a huge advantage tonight, being rested and Kentucky coming off of a slugfest earlier today in a must-win situation.

Mizzou gets revenge on Pepperdine, downing them 4-1 to force a deciding game tomorrow night!

How about Rick Zagone and Aaron Crow, both true freshman, both throw complete games in elimination games in the NCAA tournament. 18 IP, 2 ER, 12 H, 2 BB, 10 K's of freshman sensation. Well done boys.

YES! C of C beats UK 7-4 to win the Lexington regional. They'll play Georgia Tech in the Super Regionals next weekend.

GO COUGS! =D>

South Carolina loses to Evansville by a bajillion runs, and will play the deciding game tomorrow night. Hopefully they'll have a better showing.

Should be a great matchup. Hopefully Tech can get a couple of their wounded back by the weekend.

South Carolina wins the Charlottesville regional, beating Evansville 5-1. They will play either FSU or UGA in the Super Regionals.

This is the 6th time in 7 years that SC has made the Super Regionals. Very impressive.

It will be Georgia. They beat FSU tonight.

So two South Carolina teams vs. two Georgia teams in the Super Regionals. Just like both South Carolina teams played Indiana teams in the Regionals.

South Carolina is up 7-0 in the second inning in Athens, Georgia after back-to-back moonshots.

EDIT: Wow, 4 straight BOMBS off two different Georgia pitchers, and the last out was a laserbeam to the warning track. 9-0 after 1.5 innings.

Actually it was 5 in a row. 8 in the game. :D

USC is now 1 win away from the CWS.

After losing 5-0 yesterday, CofC is down 5-2 in the 5th today.

Hmm, I guess I should not be surprised, but it looks like OSUs Buck's lost velocity has been a result of pitching threw an elbow injury. TJ may be on the horizon. From WC's latest UTK.

I believe this came out awhile ago that he had a sprained ligament but he couldn't feel it. They gave him some rest and his velocity jumped a little but but not to where it was before. I'd be slightly surprised if he has TJ, but a cleanup procedure might not be out of the question.

Yeah I knew the actually strained ligament was not news, but the TJ remarks have become more serious.

EDIT: No one will probably ever see this, because I am editing this about 6 weeks later, yes!

Third-round pick Dallas Buck watched Sunday's game from the general manager's suite before heading to Tucson to work out.

Buck had been mulling whether to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow but has decided to table the procedure for now.

"I haven't really had any significant time off in a number of years," said Buck, who hasn't thrown since helping Oregon State win the College World Series at the end of June. "So we thought we'd give it a chance to heal on its own."

Tests revealed a 40 percent tear of Buck's ulnar collateral ligament, and he said he was told surgery is usually needed for tears of 50 percent or more.
