Can somebody explain to me how seating will work at Wrigley's new "Batter's Eye" restaurant? It's part of the new bleacher expansion project . . .

I know other stadiums have similar restaurants, and I've always been curious about how it works. Is it for game-day ticket holders only? (i.e., do you buy a ticket then go to the restaurant?) Are tables reserved ahead of time? Can you stay there for the whole game, or are you expected to move on at some point? Can I buy a cheap SRO ticket but actually spend my time enjoying the game from the restaurant?

So many questions . . .

Thanks Gang!!

From what I understand, it is a group purchase and you can inquire about availablity right now. I do not believe it will give you an option of "Hanging" out with a SRO seat.

Every team has different rules regarding such places. For some, they are like a suite rental.

When the Rangers built their new park in 1994, a TGIFriday's was built. Anyone could go in and eat there before or during the games. The tables by the windows overlooking the ballpark were cleared out 1 hour before game time for ticket persons for those tables alone. If you had a ticket to the game, you could exit to the park for the game...or if you didn't you could just stay in the restaurant.

That was a farily large restaurant though.

I wonder if this restaurant will be open after games for anyone to enjoy or is it just a game day thing only. I know some ballparks have those and some have ones like what the Rangers offered.

I heard they were toying with having the restaurant open all year long, but I am not sure what they ultimately decided on that. I do believe they said that they would have it open before and after games however.

I have eaten at the Friday's at Miller Park in left field during batting practice which is cool - don't want to focus too much on your sandwich or you could take one on the noggin! But they do come around before the game and ask you to leave because the seats are resereved for the game.

I remember the restaurant at US Comiskular has a policy that if you want to sit at the windows, you basically have to keep buying food/drinks.
