Apparently, the Rangers are sending a letter to Clemens's agents outlining the financial parameters of a potential deal.

Rangers owner Tom Hicks said Monday he is planning to send a letter to Clemens' agent, Alan Hendricks, outlining possible financial parameters to a deal and why Arlington would be a good fit for the seven-time Cy Young Award winner.

Texas is on the list of four teams that Clemens has said he'd consider playing for, so yes. It's definitely worth a shot.

Who are the others? Houston and... New York and Boston?

I thought he said no to Boston. May have heard incorrectly, however.

Of the 4 teams he's interested in, I would love to see him with the Rangers. I believe he'll end up back with the Astros though.

I'd like to see Hendry give Clemens a call and see if there is any interest, it can't hurt to call.

I suppose it can't hurt, but personally I think there's a 0% chance of him signing with anyone other than NY, Houston or Texas. He's already made his point about wanting to be close to his family and it's pretty clear that at this stage of his career, he holds ALL of the cards in deciding where he's going to play and it will be by his rules alone.

I'm pretty sure he'd say no too but why not think outside the box and take a chance? I'd buy his family arguement if he stayed in Texas but NY or Boston would be for money and a chance to win.

Clemens in a Ranger's uni would be interesting.

Having Picked up Millwood and Clemens (if so) they might just have enough pitching to make a wildcard run.

If they end up with Clemens, Millwood, and Padilla along with Eaton in that rotation combined with their offense, they may have a division winner.

Damn - you stole my thought.

If Clemens can still pitch and Eaton does not explode at tthe sight of Arlington (as opposed to pitcher-friendly SD), look out Halos and A's.
