DOUG JONES: 1st year on the ballot…Pitched 16 seasons with 7 teams…Named to five All-Star teams (1988-’90, ’92, ’94)…One 40 save season…Five seasons with 30 or more saves…Eight seasons with 20 or more saves…Four times received MVP votes (15th – 1988, 23rd – 1990, 14th – 1992, 20th – 1997)…Named co-NL Fireman of the Year in 1992 by The Sporting News …Ranks 18th on the all-time save list with 303…Five times among league leaders in saves…Twice led league in games finished (1992, ’97)…Earned the victory at the 1994 All-Star Game…Set a major league record with 14 saves in 14 consecutive appearances in 1988…Hurled 27 consecutive scoreless innings from Aug. 11-Sept. 26, 1997…Two postseason series, both DS, going working three games with no record (4.50 era).
