Apparantly you will soon be able to buy a new car for around $10,000. They are being made in China. The story will be on the NBC nightly news tonight.

She's a real beauty!

That's gross. Someone mentioned that it carries the spirit of Yugo within its accursed frame - beach towel upholstery, keys that break off in the ignition, etc.

That's not even close to being the ugliest car out there.

It will most likely be close to being the lowest quality and most unreliable car in the American market.

Can't be any worse than a Neon or a Focus

Why do you think I got rid of 'em?

Got my new big-ass American SUV ordered! 2007 Tahoe.

That's awesome; I haven't seen one on the road yet, but it looks outstanding in the photos.

"Available January 10", my butt. Anywho, I have yet to see one in person, but my dealer seems to think I should have it within 2 weeks. JOY!

Where do you live? I've heard that the initial allocations went to dealerships in Michigan and Texas.

You are vastly underestimating just how awful the first Chinese cars on these shores will be. The Geely will seem luxurious when compared to the Neon, but the old 20-20 rule will apply - like most butterfaces, it will only seem nice from 20 feet away and at 20 mph.

EDIT: Somehow I managed to delete the last part of my post. I've bolded the restored part.

I live in Iowa. Maybe I won't have it as soon as I thought then.

I was referring to the "first of the first." I'd say the rest of us will see the trucks shortly.

I drive a Neon, what is so awful about them?

They are only cool if you put a bunch of race stickers on them, fart can muffler and a bunch of really neat gauges that light up at night!

What? Hey sorry, some of us aren't rich enough to afford all those exotic cars and idiotic looking things (like you described) on their cars.

Relax man, it’s just funny to see kids run around in a 4 door commuter and try to make it into a street tuner. Not ripping on your ride, but it's not meant to resemble a sports car. Do you know what I am talking about or is this not making sense?

I understand what you're saying. I just don't get why you assumed I put that stuff on my car...

My car is a Silver SXT and has nothing on it. Same way I bought it.

I'd feel like a moron driving around in a "souped up" Neon.

Even my kids at daycamp would make fun of me if I did that.

Must be late bro, seriously I was making a sarcastic remark in my original post. I did not assume you even put a parking sticker on your car.

My bad on the misunderstanding!

I was just trying to figure out why people think Neon's suck so much ;)

I've had my car for over a year and haven't seen a problem yet. Gotten good gas mileage in the city during the time.

Its only likely a 4-5 year car for me.

I've had them as rental cars a few times and I felt like if I closed the trunk too hard that it would disintegrate. My wife likened the experience to "driving a tin can"

I've edited my post to eliminate the perceived rip on the Neon. I actually thnk it was a good entry for DCX; they will live to rue the day they got rid of their only small sedan in favor of an SUV crossover.

The SRT-4 was a kickass machine.

J.R., I have a car question and you seem like the right guy to ask. Why type of car is Tommy Lee driving in the music video Good Times?

It's a convertible and looks like it's from the 60s.

If you've never seen the video, you can watch it at launch.yahoo.com and searching for Tommy Lee videos.

I'll try to play the video at work, for whatever reason I can't view it from here.

I saw the new Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. Man, it looks nice. A real retro-muscle car. The dude driving it looked old enough to own one of the orignals.

That's awesome.

I'd rather drive an EVO, STI, or an R32 than a SRT-4.

And you'd likely be eating the Neon's dust.

2006 EVO - 286 HP with AWD

2006 STI - 300 HP with AWD

2004 R32 - 237 HP with AWD

2005 SRT-4 - 230 HP with FWD
