A token offer of $20 Million dollars should be offered by anyone who is in contention and could afford it. The Cubs could throw the Furcal money right at him and promise everything Houston gave him. Stark seems to think Anaheim and both New York teams could make a play for him. Chicago's closer. It's very unlikely, if not impossible, but definitely worth the money for one year of Cy Young pitching and the shot at a WS title.

if he would give them a "feel-good story" discount and pitch for $8-$10M, would JH consider it? with clemens, zam, prior, maddux and wood...WOW.

He'll only play for $20 million or more to come back. He's got money on his mind. He knows he doesn't need to come back, but he's not foolish either.

1.87 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 522 OPS??? Heck yes, throw Furcal money at him for a season.

Yankees? I have a gut feeling - No.

Red Sox? Dunno..

Cant think of any other teams he would go with.

While reading this article, I found a quote from Clemens's agents to be particularly interesting.

If anybody calls, we'll listen," Hendricks said.

If that's the case, I hope Jim at least puts in a call.

yeah he better...offer him 20 mil and see what he says. Clemens, Zambrano, Prior, Maddux, Wood. I'd love to see Clemens here just for the fact we can have two 300 game winners on the same team and the fact we'd have the best pitching staff ever.

Let him retire. I'd be too tempted to throw a shattered bat at him if I ever see him in wrigley. I dont like him.

We don't have 20 million left in the budget...but I doubt anyone else offers that much either. I'd offer him 10-12 million and see what happens.
