I understand why Phillips was fired each time he opens his mouth. "Damon and Pierre are the only impact leadoff hitters out there." That type of narrow minded decisions will lead to overpaying for a player.

- Pierre interest from Cubs, Rangers....maybe Yankees. Will be moved this week.

Gammons didn't say that. He said Cubs need a 2b so Cedeno can play SS. I guess Walker doesn't count. :cry:

Unfortunately so. Gammons seems like a half-decent analyst, doesn't he understand that Neifi has to die to not play?

- Ripple effect is also going to be felt next year with FA's like Mark Mulder (who is clearly better than Burnett)

- Beane wants Milledge for Zito, Gammons doesn't think Mets have young pitcher to go with him in a deal.

 

- Phillips thinks Mets should still go for Manny, which probably makes it a bad idea.

 

- Gammons thinks Manny will remain a Red Sox (though he had a hilarious string of trades that would get him to the Mets, including Milledge, Heilman, Floyd, Sexson, Glaus...)
