I don't see Konerko being moved with his contract. I do see Dye, Iguchi and possibly Vazquez being moved. I think Crede is done for the year or else he could have been moved.

This is good for us. Leave him in the AL. When there was talk of the Brewers or Cards getting him I was a bit worried.

Lidge has the same injury and he went on the DL. No reason to take any chances with your closer. We'll be fine until he gets back. -
At this point, it's obvious Lou isn't playing him at all so I can live with him on the roster until the Cubs find a better deal. Getting Jones and Izturis out of the lineup and not playing is the most important, then freeing up a roster space is next. One thing about Lou I like a lot is he really does play the guys who deserve to play. Even Izturis' time has diminished and if Font and Theriot can play a decent SS he might be relegated to the bench too, because let's face it his defense isn't gold-glove like.

I don't think it's being unrealistic. With Font and DeRo doing so well and having Theriot on the bench I believe it makes Izturis expendable. I can see it being the next move the cubs make.

i really don't care that the Cubs paid for his salary or if we got nothing in return. The guy was terrible this year and he is expendable. Addition by subtraction.

That guy said it is just a rumor and he has no confirmation or details, said he would confirm when he found out. Check the comments to that rumor.

Florida was looking for OF help so it makes sense. I'm sure we're paying for most of the salary anyway so let's give this guy some slack until proven otherwise, it makes sense.

It is when you consider that nobody else on the roster can play SS for more than an emergency fill-in role... which means it's going to be all Izturis all the time. Bingo. Izturis has been outplaying Theriot. As the starting SS, Theriot has been abysmal. There's a negligible difference defensively, and Theriot is a better bet to produce offensively going forward, despite what he's done in an small sample at SS. Izturis has had so many chances to drive in runs and only has 8 RBI! Theriot still has better numbers than Izturis. The decision to me at least is simple, get rid of thr overpriced bum Izturis.

Sad indeed. I avoid Murph like the plague. Murph is terrible. Only reason to listen right now is for the updates.

Stupid move. Just recently Theriot executed the suicide squeeze to give us the winning run and just yesterday the guy went 2/3 with 2R and a SB when Lou replaced the incompetent Izturis with him. Hendry irritates me.

The latest score update said Jones and his agent have said that they have not heard anything about the trade and that Jones would be leaving soon to join the team at Wrigley. So much for that..

He's a damn liar. This is pathetic. I was getting my hopes up with us getting rid of one of Jones or Izturis so much for that.
