  1. Is it all the organization's fault? YOu can definitely make a case for it or did you forget how bad he was abused in 2003? Crazy pitch counts and letting him go out there and pitch when he hurt his arm running the basepaths? Yeah, you can make a case. How's Kerry Wood doing these days? Two different situations! Wood was hurt and had surgery. Prior was hurt because of crazy accidents line drive of the elbow, Achillie's Heal, Running into Giles etc...Plus he's never had any kind of surgery. I mean you can make a case if he blew out his shoulder or elbow but he hasn't... You can still make a case. Both Wood and Prior were used a lot in 2003. Their pitch counts were really high and wasn't that Priors first full season in the majors? Why was Prior put right back into the game after he hurt his arm after the Giles collision? Was it really an achilles problem with Prior because rumors were swirling that it was his elbow. Believe me, you can make a case. Lately, it seems this organization can't get anything right. Wood underwent surgery for his shoulder and now he's dealing with a torn rotator cuff? Is this a possible misdiagnosis again?

Crazy pitch counts and letting him go out there and pitch when he hurt his arm running the basepaths? Yeah, you can make a case. How's Kerry Wood doing these days? Funny though how Ozzie has 4 of the top 12 used pitchers in the AL, yet no one is blaiming him or the organization for over use. I'm sure his time will come. Look at how bad the WSox starting pitching has been.
  3. I'm not ready to give up on Prior but, I believe he's done for this season, shut him down and find out what's wrong. Do you honestly trust this organization in making the right decision? How many times have they misdiagnosed someone already?

  5. Prior is done for. I'm convinced now more than ever that he will never be the same pitcher whom was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. His curveball and fastball are just not the same anymore. I feel bad for this guy who was drafted by a 2nd rate organization like this one.
  6. With MacPhail, Hendry and Baker this organization is going nowhere. This is ridiculous but I'm not surprised though I think we all knew that Baker runs this club like it is a circus and they are the main attraction. One word..PATHETIC.
  7. While I want no part of Neifi, Jones hasn't been horrible. Stats: AVG .288 | HR 18 | RBI 55 | OBP .321 | SLG .499 Sorry, but those numbers suck for a RFer in my opinion. 55rbis? Jeez that's terrible.
  8. All I know is that we really need power in the OF so here's hoping that he pans out.
  9. It just goes to show you how delusional some fans really are.
  10. I didn't see Hill pitch the last time out but for this organization's sake I'm hoping that I'm wrong and he has turned the corner. I'm still skeptical but I do want the kid to succeed.
  11. Did you expect any different from one of the worst GMs in baseball?
  12. If our core can stay healthy I believe that our offense should be ok this year. It definitely won't be as bad as it was last year when Orton took over. We will rely heavily on our RB's so here's hoping they stay healthy. Bradley was considered a WR who had tremendous speed and playmaking ability. I just can't wait for the season even though i was really dissapointed with the draft.
  13. Say that to Hendry who still thinks players that can catch the ball are the solution.
  14. All-star shortstop? Not in my books. That's a title that doesn't tell the whole story. Izturis, aside from his glove isn't really good. He's a Neifi clone.
  15. People that actually thought we would get a top prospect for Maddux are delusional. That being said, acquiring the second coming of Neifi with a bad contract was even worse than staying pat.
  16. This organization blows! It's just too damn hard for me to root for another team.
  17. The Broncos offered Lelie to us for Jones but we weren't interested.
  18. I'm not getting that hunch, but I could see it. Assuming Ramirez and Pierre get raises, and they sign some expensive, yet ineffective innings eater for the rotation, I'm guessing they spread the remaining cash around to a mediocre left fielder or a mediocre second baseman, plus a very bad veteran for the bench. Maybe Blanco gets a raise as well. I could see hendry going after a guy like Marcus Giles, or maybe I am hopeful he does. The OF situation I have no idea. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes after Carlos Lee but for some reason i get the feeling he would rather overpay for pitching. Boras and Hendry do have a good relationship. No matter what, I'm going to be very nervous over the next 9 months in regards to what moves he makes. I'm trying to prepare myself for endless frustration. I woudl have preferred Giles over Izturis that's for sure. I wonder if Cedeno will be moved to 2B now?
  19. Sweet, took you 3 years you fool Exactly. On another note, I feel like slapping Hendry every time he says the guy can catch the ball. He said that yesterday during the Cubs game. Jeez. I know this is probably sacreligious, but I found it *supremely* satisfying to watch that grand slam fly out right after Hendry proclaimed "Mark's back, he's over the hump." Oh yeah, really? Over the hump, eh? Good show!! :x Hendry's response: "I thought that ball was going to drop before the warning track." Wrong again!!! Wow, you're really on a roll Jimbo! And then I fell asleep.....which is what the Cubs increasingly do to me these days. That was pretty damn hilarious! Every time Hendry kept talking something crazy would happen, it was great.
  20. Sweet, took you 3 years you fool Exactly. On another note, I feel like slapping Hendry every time he says the guy can catch the ball. He said that yesterday during the Cubs game. Jeez.
  21. Good to see Rusch back in form. Hendry is a moron if he thinks this game is all about defense.
  22. With Nomar hitting two grand slams. If he's off the DL by then.
  23. Yeah, you're right. There is no possibility whatsoever that what Hoops just described could ever happen. But seriously, Hoops, I agree that Hendry is not going to be satisfied with a middle infield of Izturis and Cedeno. He may be unable to improve upon it, but he certainly isn't looking at those two guys and saying, "Good, now I'm done." Whether your pricetag for Tejada is realistic or not is yet to be seen. It seems like wishful thinking to me, but we'll see. I certainly would like to see Tejada as SS for the Cubs. And anyone would have to be out of their minds with cynicism to believe that Hendry wouldn't. At least not before Tejada's 36th birthday. Yeah, but seriously, You're giving a lot of credit to Hendry considering him and Baker have single handely DESTROYED this team.
  24. By God, you're right! John Schuerholtz, Bill Stoneman, they don't give a rats' ass for stats! They just go out there and acquire players who just look good dag nabbit! Any time they see a computer, they get the urge to pull out a Louisville Slugger and tee off on it because computers are the devil! Stats LIE to people! They are a horrible evil that should be wiped from the planet. I don't care if stats tell me that Neifi Perez is one of the most worthless hitters in the history of baseball, by God, HE LOOKS LIKE A BASEBALL PLAYER! He has to be great! Who gives a crap about walks? Only sissies and women take the damn things. Real men swing at every pitch they think they can hit, no matter how far out of the zone it is! Arthritis? Pft, Izturis can get over that. Arthritis is a temporary thing; thats' what my gut tells me! Enough with the shenanigans, here's my bottom line. This organization hasn't won anything of value in nearly 100 years. It's been over 60 years since they even made it to the friggin' World Series. I know they've almost made it on a few occasions, but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. This organization celebrates when the team posts back to back winning seasons. That's not a good thing; that's an absolute disgrace. Hendry has made a few good moves in the past (Nomar, Hawkins, Ramirez), but it's clear the direction this organization is moving is a terrible one. This team has a $100m payroll and yet they're only ahead of the D-Rays, Royals, and Pirates in terms of record? They're seriously among the worst in the league in runs scored and in various pitching categories; is this a joke? I've had enough of the way the front office thinks. They think OBP is only important, but that guys who have high averages are preferable because they simply MUST have good OBPs! They don't preach good plate discipline and they have an incompetent coaching staff in the majors. Why the hell do you think it's been so long since this organization actually turned out a competent position player? Enough already with the dinosaur way of thinking; it doesn't work. This team won't go anywhere if it continues being stubborn in its line of thinking. When was acquiring Hawkins considered a good move? His stay here was an absolute disaster. That being said the rest is spot on :)
