  1. is anyone having issues with mlb.tv?
  2. I love it - worth every penny. I don't have cable TV, but get to watch any game but the national blackouts. Also, you can flip between games pretty easily if you're bored and get broadcasts of almost any game. I've got DSL at home and the stream is fine (my work T1 is even better!). The picture is very clear if you open it in the normal window size (I prefer Real Player, but Windows Media Player is fine). The picture starts to lose clarity quickly if you start moving to a 2x picture. That said, I've watched a few games in full screen, but you're definately looking at a so-so picture. Even then, it's still o.k. In fact, I've checked out the projection capabilities in a lecture hall and would have been glad to watch a few games on the big screen! I'll second that...the t-1 here at work is much much smother than my cable modem at home....of course a lot of times at home I'm playing poker and in a game thread, while also having the game on...I think that explains a lot of the times of my picture freezing.
  3. I have it...and I'd have to say its worth the $$. The picture does freeze up somewhat regularly, but the audio is almost always clear...and the Picture is good the vast majority of the time. For me here in St. Louis, it comes in very handy as it allows me to follow a lot of games I'd never have the chance to see. I think you might get frustrated if you just sat down and all you did was watch the game solely on MLB.TV...but if your in a game thread, or in your room/house/wherever and its there in the background its nice.
  4. Yeah...Fatherhood is another one of those cruel tricks God plays on you...somehow things that only happen after you are "off the market" are the things that Women find most attractive.
  5. Yeah, I saw it was supposed to be a lot nicer...thank goodness...not sure if we could hack another weekend like last one... We'll be in the first row of section 104...easy to spot...Cubs Jersey and a stroller...if you're near, say hi.
  6. Are you Crazy???     She's coming too...no way I'd try to pull that one off yet...he's only about 1 year old...he's done really well at the games we've been to so far down here at Busch, but there needs to be at least two of us to pass him back and forth...I'm guessing by the 4th inning he and my wife are walking the concourse while I'm watching the game.
  7. Thanks...good advice.
  8. I'm not sure about the ticket thing, but I'm pretty sure that you have to leave your stroller (no matter the size) at the gate, where you can pick it up again on the way out. (nothing fits under the Wrigley field seats) Thanks for the response...I just got off the phone with the Cubs, and searched their websight...here is what I found. Children under 2. No ticket is needed. As for the Stroller... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/chc/ballpark/security.jsp says that: The following items will be permitted: BAGS, PURSES, FANNY PACKS AND BACKPACKS SMALLER THAN THE SIZE LIMIT 16" X 16" X 8" SMALL SOFT-SIDED COOLERS STROLLERS WHEELCHAIRS So it looks like I'll be in good shape...hope this info proves useful to someone else sometime... regardless, Saturday should be a lot of fun. [/b]
  9. Quick question for those of you out there who have taken your kids to Wrigley. What are the rules on tickets for childern under the age of 2? Do they need them? Also...are fold up (umbrella type) strollers that will lay beneath the seats allowed into the park? Thanks...I'm taking my little guy up for his first wrigley trip next Saturday and the wife is pelting me with questions...
  10. Man them religious people gotta have their soda....God doesn't want them to go thirsty. Oh, yeah...and anyone seen today's sure to be sucky lineup?
  11. A sac fly from the second baseman....hmmm...wouldn't that have been helpful last night.
  12. Yeah...I'm absolutely certain of it.
  13. Forget setting Lee or Burnitz...try sitting Walker...at least he can't hit into a double play from there... :x :x :x :x
  14. Yeah...I was there...we happened to lose Nomar that day too. :( :( Yeah, so was I. Good thing Dusty wont have the option of bringing in LaTroy with the tying run at the plate like he did that night. Bush was just big enough to hold that ball. As I recall, Corey caught Mabry's long fly right against the wall to end the game. I almost had a heart attack :x  Yup...I about died...Z pitches a great game...I'm at least having some consolation in that fact that we've won, despite losing Nomar...and then Hawkins lets Mabry hit the ball about as far as he was physically able...That right there sealed the deal on Hawkins for me....it didn't go out, but I was done with him....it was too close.
  15. So is it right for me to read that as its possible, if everything goes well, that he'll be back at Wrigley for the weekend of the 30th? You know what's really freaking strange about that. I took my son to Busch for his first Cubs game on the day Nomar went down. I'm taking him to Wrigley on the 30th for his first game in Chicago...it would be pretty odd for his first two games be the one Nomar went down in, and then the one he came back in...not sure if that's a good omen, a bad omen, or just a strange coincidence.
  16. You might also try 880 A.M. Its a church channel in southern Illinois that broadcasts the WGN signal for Cubs games.
  17. Yeah...I was there...we happened to lose Nomar that day too. :( :( On a somewhat related note, that was my Son's first Baseball game...he's almost a year old now....I bought a brick in the new Stadium that reads... William Moore 1st gm 4-20-2005 Cubs 3, Cards 1 Its about as close as I could get to having go Cubs put in the side of the new Busch Stadium...I think they would have edited anything more 'Pro Cub'
  18. I'd hope not. I'm really starting to like the kid and I'd like to see him get more time. If we could deal for Kearns, Keep Murton, have them play the corners next year and sign Johnny Damon to lead off for a couple of years that would be a solid outfield...(Ducks while people type furiously about how that would block Pie)
  19. Um...Could someone check and see...that may be the first time in baseball history that a team started an inning with back to back doubles and did not score a run.
  20. Yeah...just to rest so he plays all three in St. Louis...that's great. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  21. I agree. If he was banned merely for posting it...there is something wrong. Now if he did something on pm to deserve it...then so be it...but there was enough talk in enough places that it sure didn't seem like an out and out troll.
  22. Do we really have no one better than Macias in that spot?
  23. Ok...I'm close to done with Kerry. Seriously how often do we have to wait for him to get healthy....He hasn't had a string of 10 straight starts w/o injury since seemingly 03....Give me Glendon and let Kerry relieve, sit, trade(yes...I know...no-trade-clause)....I'm just getting tired of it.
  24. I would wager a large sum of $$ that if he goes somewhere, no matter where that somewhere might be, that it will be the ESPN caption.
  25. Below is a post from our beloved founder Tim in the Choi for Lee thread...while off topic, I thought it was rather funny all things considered... rawaction wrote: HOLY S@#$T! Tim wrote: Don't worry, Raw. I won't hold the use of @#$@@$# profanity against you for this one! Let it all hang out. This is an awful move. That said, I'm going to check Lee's stats outside of Florida's immense park
