    Based on the way Ward has been playing lately, the Pirates did us a favor. yeah that 1225 OPS over the last 7 days sucks. or that 1117 OPS over the last 2 weeks. or maybe that 1056 OPS in the last month. what a terrible baseball player. dammit pat got my hopes up. And getting picked off first base in scoring situations.

AGAINST THE PIRATES. oh good god i had forgotten that we struggled against the bloody pirates as well this year christ man astros, reds, pirates what the crap! Talk about playing down to your competition in the division. Cubs combined record against Pirates, Reds and Astros: 15-19 (after tonight) Cubs combined record against Cards and Brewers: 16-10 Hell, if the Cubs were .500 against the bottom three teams in the division to this point, they'd still have a 2-game cushion on the Brewers.

    The Brewers' next ten games are against the Pirates and Reds. This season is OVER. I know. We still have to play the Padres, Mets, Phillies, D'Backs... Nevermind. We play the Pirates and Reds too. Cubs record against the Reds: 5-7 Cubs record against the Pirates: 4-5 Yeah, that's a playoff team right there, folks. You should change your name to Pollyanna. It would suit you.

    I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks". they are compared to the guys the Cubs have. No they aren't. Especially Loney. Just because they're young and you don't know who they are, doesn't mean they aren't good. It just means you should pay more attention. Meanwhile, our youngsters either can't hit, can't show up for the games on time, or if they can hit, languish on the bench behind a guy who can't hit and can't throw anyone out. And that has nothing to do with you calling Loney a "skid mark" when he clearly isn't. Yeah, you're right. I'd sure choose him over Derrek Lee. He's fantastic. :roll:
