  1. It's like watching Dusty's teams out there the last five games.
  2. Holy crap. Marquis' going TWICE? We're so screwed. :-))
  3. I'm beginning to wonder if the Cubs aren't as good as we thought they were.
  4. Great time for a four-game losing streak, ladies. It's sure going to get easier when you have to go TO Houston and St. Louis next week.
  5. Does Valverde throw anything besides fastballs?
  6. At least hold one of them back for tomorrow.
  7. Remember when Derek Lee was more than just a singles' hitter and could hit with runners on? That was fun.
  8. Gotta be demoralizing for the Brewers...they win eight in a row, and get to within three games of first place, only to lose the next two and fall back further than they were at the end of the Cubs series.
  9. And another. Hell of an at-bat there by DeRosa.
  10. You don't know much about Ned Yost. Yeah, I know. Stupid me. :) Yost is like Dusty on roids. Maybe if we're lucky he'll leave Sheets out there to throw 150 pitches and we can watch the surgeon try to reattach his arm in the bullpen.
  11. I know the Brewers' pen is terrible, but I was surprised to see Yost leave Sabathia out there for 120+ pitches.
  12. I would go with Mrs. Soto. There are many Mrs. Soto's CUBS WIN!!!!!!! I like this Ms. Soto: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/Suol_/MIIMG_00080_LG.jpg (Blanca Soto, model, you might recognize her as the girl with the tattoo of "Mike" in the Yellow Book commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTnwWzNGPIQ ) Also, 4-2 Phillies That's seriously Geo's wife? Yowza. No, just the same last name. Hell, I might put a picture of her in my wallet and say she's my wife. No one would believe me, but who cares?
  13. We were up 4.5 games like 2 weeks ago. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHC/2008_sched.shtml Agree to disagree. LMAO. Stay classy, San Diego.
  14. We were up 4.5 games like 2 weeks ago. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHC/2008_sched.shtml
  15. I heard earlier tonight that this is the first time the Cubs have had a 4.5 game lead in the division since 8/1/01.
  16. I pride myself on being politically incorrect, but those t-shirts and headbands are offensive even to me. [-X
  17. Shocker. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-27-prior-markmar27,1,1534064.story
  18. It was in the Vineline and the complete list will be in the Chicago Tribune sports section the Sunday prior to the convention. You all are excited to go and I am thrilled out of my mind not to go this year. It hasn't been the same since October 2003. The fans are different and it is oversold and packed with people. It has forced the players to hide from the fans rather than hang out in Kitty O'Sheas and talk at the end of each day's activities. Even the former players hide because the fans are different now. It used to be a lot of fun but not anymore to me. I agree. I went for the first time last year, and never really got a chance to enjoy myself, as I spent hours upon hours waiting in line. The place was way too full, and it looked like there were way too many tickets sold for a small amount of space. One jerk even took it upon himself to stop a line all by himself because he thought everyone was trying to cut in line to get Alan Trammell's autograph. He almost came to blows with a couple other people. Even those people who won chances to get "prime" autographs weren't actually guaranteed of getting them. I can't imagine a situation where I'll go back.
  19. I think Soto is the real deal. I can't remember the last time the Cubs had a catcher who was good offensively and defensively.
  20. The Cubs have hit into another double play.
  21. How about the Mets last week? if i knew this week that the cubs were going to play like the mets did last week, i would've been happier if they didn't make the playoffs. At least the Mets have won a World Series in my lifetime. I'd be able to swallow a collapse like that. I wouldn't like it, but at least I could deal with it. Someone should take the bats from the dugout outside and let the fans go to work on the players' cars. The players sure as hell didn't use them, so at least the fans could.
