    Still up 2-1 heading into the bottom of 7th. Novoa coming into pitch. You wouldn't think it, but the Cubs have 8 hits over the last 3 innings. Addendum: 3 pages! My work here is done. Out the door I am, good night. The Cubs may still lose this yet.

    See what happens when Fred's not around? 2-1 Cubs heading into the bottom of the 6th. Should be the last inning for Marmol. Other than the walks (3 in the first inning, 5 total), he's looked good.

    Good thing Kerry pitched through an injury and delayed having surgery so he could help us "contend" for the play-offs late last year. Oh well, it's just a rotator cuff, it's not like it is his livelihood or anything.

    To be fair, Jacque doesn't hit lefties. But when you've got a guy who is struggling with his control, you are basically doing him a favor by giving him a free out.
