  1. My god. Just one day after Rusch "pitches". @#$@ing ridiculous. You'll be gratified to hear he also talked about having to make a decision between Guzman and Marmol (hard to hear since he was practically mumbling at this point). In other words, instead of tossing Glendon the Hutt out on his rear, one of those icky AAA/AA guys will be sent back down.
  2. Dusty post game highlights: We're not scoring runs... They have a very good team... Lots of firepower up and down their line-up... Will be a tremendous boost getting Prior, Wood and Miller back... Pitching is the name of the game... We've got guys from AAA and AA playing, not complaining, that's just the way it is... Yada, yada, yada...same 'ol, same 'ol.
  3. Elaborate? Nothing really. He was just talking about getting lots of faxes from frustrated Cub fans and bascially responded by saying, "Amen. I hear ya."
  4. Santo is being swamped with angry/frustrated faxes.
  5. What's he saying? But then Brenly came back and played devil's advocate. ....and some people want him to be the new Cub manager. He is far too Dustyish for my liking.
  6. This is why I am really starting to hate the TV broadcasters. I know they are trying to ingratiate themselves with Cub fans, but you are not going to win them over by being all rah-rah when the team is playing atrociously. Or maybe they are just worried about keeping their jobs, which is a sad commentary on the people that run this team.
  7. Why ?? They guy's gotten on base 13 times in his last 7 games. Who do have that will do any better ?? I was kind of going for the reverse-jinx there, Fred. But seriously, I can't stand the guy. Is it possible that we could sign Andy Pafko to play CF? He'd be an upgrade.
  8. The Cubs are going to set an attendence record this year, aren't they?
  9. Helluva a ballclub you built here, Mr. Hendry.
  10. I have faith in Hank Blanco. He'll get both runs here in one at-bat.
  11. It's like watching Gary Kasparov in the Cub dugout.
  12. Did my eyes deceive me, or did JJ actually throw the ball on the fly to the cut-off man, as opposed to spiking it into the ground?
  13. Depends. Bases empty = Neifi, for his great on-base skills Somebody on = Mayberry, for his awesome power bat
  14. Clemson wins 8-4. With all of these comebacks, I'm beginning to think they are a team of destiny. Meanwhile, the Cubs are a team of Dustiny. Last place here we come.
  15. Murton is having a rough inning. He lost his glove on one pick-off attempt. Clemson has exploded for 8 runs in the bottom of the 8th. Colvin batting for the second time in the inning with runners on 1st and 3rd.
  16. BTW, if anyone cares, Clemson just took the 6-4 in the 8th lead on a Matt D'Alessio 3-run bomb. Tyler Colvin: 2-4, R Marquez Smith: 1-3, R, 2 RBI
  17. I was looking at the stats of Glendon the Hutt: 47.3 IP / 43 R / 41 ER He'll finally be DFA'd after he's allowed twice as many runs as IP.
  18. Len just reminded us that Rothschild could have been the pitching coach for the Detroit Tigers. Just twist the knife a little further why don't ya.
