  1. Here comes another sac bunt. Edit: The one time Dusty doesn't have him bunt... :?
  2. ...you mean stuck in the 70's baseball mindset? Pretty much - although I'd say 60's baseball in Santo's case. I'm all for longtime baseball people conducting drills and teaching fundamentals, but I'm starting to believe that those who played the game on a professional level don't understand how to maximize a team's chances for success. I'd love for someone who never played pro ball to replace Baker, but it won't happen. Billy Beane = played ball professionally Jim Hendry = did not
  3. Ugh for the last time, Jim Hendry didn't write that book. Andy MacPhail wrote that ABOUT Jim Hendry. I thought Phil Rogers wrote it.
  4. Don't forget Huff swinging on a 2-0 count (after the first two pitches were in the dirt) against Novoa with the bases loaded last night.
  5. The Cubs are second in the NL in sacrifices. Dusty won't settle for being second best.
  6. Cubs win! Who knew I could get this excited over a mid-August meaningless game?!?
  7. 100% chance he won't play tomorrow. It's now Wednesday, which means "tomorrow" is Thursday, the off day.Don't get smart with me, I'm tired. :D
  8. How much do you want to bet that Murton rides the pine tomorrow.
  9. To the 18th we go! Come on Cubs, win this. It's way past Neifi's bed time.
  10. Hendry is ordering his second large pepperoni pizza of the game.
  11. I was at a game at Wrigley that went past 14 innings with a double dip 7th inning stretch. It was against the Reds, Andre Dawson set a record for most intentional walks in a game, the Cubs lost.
  12. I'm not sure which extra inning scenario is more infuriating: (a) watching your team go down quietly inning after inning (Cubs) (b) watching your team continue to strand runners inning after inning (Astros)
  13. I just said that to my friend. I'm waiting for someone to give him a noogie. I bet he has a myspace page. $2 to the first person who finds it. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=21733 You owe me.
  14. The umps want to give this game to the Astros so they can go home.
  15. If the Cubs take the lead here, I wonder if Dusty will leave Z in to pitch?
  16. I can't speak for others, but I'm just on here to gripe.
