  1. I highly doubt it. So many crazy things and futile events have happened this year and not one single person has been fired. I mean come on, Clines, Sarge, and Baker are still here which I find the most ridiculous thing possible. Except it wouldn't be a firing, it would be one of those ambiguously worded "agreed to resignations." Trust me, I can hear the spin out of Hendry's mouth already.
  2. It's a good thing that MLB archives the audio for all of the games, I've got to to listen to Pat & Ron's call of the bottom 11th. I get the feel that just reading the game account doesn't do justice to the absurdity of it all. By the way, I've come to the realization last night that Dusty will not finish the season. I get the feeling that Dust and Hendry will have a meeting in which Dusty admits in effect that he "can't take it anymore" and he and Jimbo will come to a mutual conclusion to cut the cord. Of course, they'll use as much spin as possible when they announce it, but I truly do believe he'll be gone and the Cubs will finish the season with an interim manager.
  3. We have some work to do if we want to win the Fecal League Championship. In Dusty I Trusty!
  4. I can't wait to hear Dusty explain away this one.
  5. Bwahahahahahahaha. Seriously, you couldn't script this one.
  6.      I'll take the blame for this one.
  7. Wha' happen?!? http://www.platte.k12.sd.us/ttl/images/dumpster.jpg Bob Brenly: "Ah, man."
  8. I don't care if I jinx it, Randa is a double play waiting to happen.
  9. Limiting the back-up catcher to a single = VICTORY!
  10. Derrek Lee actively trying to destroy the Cubs' draft position. Too bad, the Pirates would have already won this game if they pinch-hit with their back-up catcher (Ryan Doumit doesn't count, since he is playing first base).
  11. Does he have a word minimium in his contract for the following words when writing about the cubs: billy goat 98 years of futility cubdom I can't stand Jay...don't care what he writes about. You forgot: "Tribster".
  12. I don't care what angles Sutcliffe plays during the night. He's still better than Joe Morgan. Plus, he might start drinking. Is Bill Murray around?
  13. they teach clutch hitting well down in Georgia - and just what the heck is timely defense? Sounds like a couple of areas the Cubs definitely need to address in the off-season. Cesar Izturis might knock in a lot of runs with his glove, but I'm not sure he's "timely".
  14. That would have been the perfect time to get Dempster some work, but as we all know, you can't use your closer in a non-save situation, dude.
  15. You can't stop Gary Bennett, you can only hope to contain him.
  16. I predict Wilson scores from first on a groundball by Belliard.
  17. I can't decide if Bynum is the new Lenny Harris or if he is the new Jose Macias.
  18. Santo speculates that Carpenter's injury is either to his leg, his groin area, or his back.
  19. His D isn't much to write home about either. Yeah, but he's versatile!
  20. Dusty is carefully laying the groundwork for his martyrdom. After Hendry and Baker mutually agree to part ways, you can expect it will be played up big with the cooperation of sympathetic mediots.
  21. For those of us not watching, can you elaborate?
  22. Nevin breaks the no-no. Unfortunately, the odds look pretty good that the Cubs will be shut-out for the 14th time this year. That's got to be a franchise record.
