  1. They probably will rest starters the last 2 games. I don't agree with that decision, but I'm guessing that is what they will do. The starters should be able to take it easy next week, but I think they need to play more minutes against Green Bay with the two week lay-off. While I don't think you can blame Lovie sitting the starters against Minnesota last year for the poor performance against Carolina, I don't think it helped either. I don't want to see these guys get lazy.
  2. I hate that the game had to come down to this, but I'll take the win and home field and be happy. BTW, the TB announcers were saying that the Rashied Davis catch should have been ruled incomplete. Any truth to that?
  3. If Gould misses this, he'll never be the same kicker again.
  4. Two weeks ago, Gould was looking like a lock to go to the Pro Bowl. Now, well, not so much.
  5. I'm calling it right now: game...over.
  6. It will be interesting to see how Lovie handles the next two games.
  7. 4th and 8 for the Saints. Edit: Redskins take over on downs! Saints lose.
  8. 2 minute warning in N.O. Saints have the ball inside the Redskin 35. Can they hold?
  9. Now it's time for the defenese to get their heads out of their rear ends.
  10. ...and we've got a game. Bucs with confidence.
  11. Oh no. This game is far from over.
  12. I doubt the Skins will hold on and win that one. I can dream though. 8-) Saints FG, 13-10. And I agree with you, the Redskins aren't going to hold.
  13. Going into the 4th quarter in N.O. Redskins up 13-7, but the Saints are driving.
  14. Tom Thayer: "It looks like an NBA basketball game is breaking out."
  15. Throwing to the backs and TE's...good. Much better than the heave-ho passing offense the Bears were running a couple of weeks ago.
  16. Good to see the reemergence of the Grossman/Clark connection. They're going to need that in the playoffs.
  17. The Cubs do have a "stat guy", his name is Chuck Wasserstrom. I remember reading an article about him and coming away depressed. Analysis didn't seem to be his forte, instead he was the guy responisble for digging out splits (you know, how does so-and-so hit on Tuesdays in day games at Wrigley), or at least that was the impression the article left. I'm certain he is the guy who'd come out with statistical print-outs before games allowing Dusty to justify playing Neifi because he had a lifetime 3-8 batting mark against against pitcher X (Dusty: "That's a .375 batting average!"). Since it has been a couple of years since I read the article, who knows if anyting has changed. The impression I got was not that the Cubs ignore stats, just that they misuse them.
