    Was it Farnsworth who refused to be interviewed unless he was compensated? I just assumed that it was Sammy, but now that I think about it, neither were quoted in Cubs Nation.

    nicely spotted. He was also another pitcher (RP instead of SP, which accounts for some of the innings) ML ready out of college. He'd also logged 57.0 innings at U of Texas the same year he was in the minors, so he didn't need the work. Just out of curiosity, what makes a pitcher "ML ready out of college" in your opinion?

    That sucks. I really had high hopes for Williams this season.

    That doesn't exactly mean a lot... Dave Duncan's son (Chris?) had the most at bats for the Cards, and he was sent down to AAA. Just cause a guy bats a lot during ST doesn't necessarily mean he'll play a lot during the season.

    So if Marshall is the #4 starter, will he start next Saturday's game against the Cards? Are the Cubs still planning on using Rusch on Wednesday and Maddux on Friday?

    On the topic of the Tribune Company.... I've never bought into the whole "the Trib doesn't care about winning" theory. Ownership doesn't spend 100 million on a team if they don't care about winning.

    What's with the shouting all of a sudden? That's an insult. Sorry bout the shouting. I'm trying to quit smoking and this thread is aggravating my nerves. And whom specifically am I insulting? Or am I attacking a viewpoint? The viewpoint that Chicken Littles everything Neifi does? I don't recall ever mentioning a poster by name or by quote, therefore I can't be attacking a poster. It wasn't an attack of an individual poster, but rather a group of posters. Good luck with the no smoking thing. I attempted to quit not that long ago and my wife went and bought me a pack just to shut me up. OT: Do the laser to the ear thing for $300. I know several people who have had amazing success wuth it. 300?! I paid 80 for it.
