  1. Let's just walk a freaking run in! Come on Lilly.
  2. Really? Sure is weird how we punish people for doing something there's no way we could expect them to do. I think you absolutely should expect all people of all ages to have the modicum of responsibility requisite to not drive home when drunk and threaten the lives of others. Yeah Abe, that's a pretty ridiculous stance. You can't expect guys between 21-40 to call a cab after drinking? I'm between 21-40 and when necessary, I've done that quite often. This is a pretty weak cop-out. Yeah, that's absurd. I'm 24 and I haven't drank and drive in at least 4-5 years. I take a cab every single time I go out (unless of course we have a sober driver).
  3. I guess he couldn't afford it after that whopping $500 fine LaRussa laid on him for showing up late, hungover, and unable to pitch last Thursday after his first accident. Keep in mind that the cops did not think he was drunk when he got into his accident on Thursday morning. Also, there are no reports he was at any strip club. if he was at that neighborhood at 5:30 AM, then the strip club(s) was the safest and most legal place(s) he could have been. Hancock says he usually goes out to drive late at night to get himself tired enough to rest. I know that sounds as implausible to you as it does to me, but that's what he said to the cops. If you're in St. Louis and you go to the East Side, you're going there for one of two reasons. 1) because you want to gangbang, or 2) because you're going to the strip clubs.
  4. I've been hearing that he was at Mike Shannon's (a bar) that night, and was encouraged by a bartender there to take a cab home. I don't know how drunk he was, but sadly it sounds like he was drunk when this happened (at least according to a couple people I work with).
  5. what? why wasn't the coroner's office / the police the party to do this? No clue. And can we update the thread title to include his name? "Cardinals pitcher"? Come on.
  6. LaRussa had to call Hancock's father and inform him. I can't imagine how hard of a call that would be. How sad.
  7. How tragic. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Nah, they'll probably make it up on 7/23. Both teams are off that day, and have a three game set starting the following day in St. Louis. I'd be shocked if it were any day but then.
  8. Awesome game. I was there again today to watch the Cubs beat the Cards. Tomorrow I'll be right behind the Cubs dugout to (hopefully) watch them sweep! Go Cubs!
  9. How can anyone say that it's not?
  10. Really? He said that? For how long?
  11. Seriously, let's just condense the entire freaking board into one thread.
  12. The Cubs have the 8th best ERA in baseball, and the 5th best team Batting Average in baseball... we're nowhere near as bad as our record says we are.
  13. I doubt he pitches at all in 2008.
  14. Dusty would've never started Theriot at SS, props to Lou for doing so. I hope he sticks with him there, because he really needs to be in the lineup everyday at this point.
  15. Then stop watching.
  16. Joe Buck talking about Bartman during the Cards-Reds game.
