  1. I fully understand the love for Marmol, but I can't understand why everybody hates Howry. I don't hate him at all. He's a good pitcher. A very good pitcher.
  2. Well, he accumulated those numbers when he was good and on the Pirates Yeah. But are you really ready to just conclude that he's done based off of one bad year out of twelve? Seriously, Kendall has been a good player for 11 out of 12 years. I'm not going to deny his suckiness this year, but I'm also not going to assume that it will continue (especially when you look at his last month and a half). No, he's been bad for several years. He hasn't had an OPS+ of 100 or better since 2004. No he hasn't. Just because he doesn't hit for power doesn't make him bad. I don't think you understand how few extra bases Kendall hits. ESPN's not working with the sorting, but I'm relatively confident he's the worst in baseball in IsoP, at least bottom 5. Looks like a little more than one every four games. Again, he's not the most ideal player in that he doesn't do EVERYTHING. But he hits for average and knows how to get on base. I'll take that. Especially considering the alternatives.
  3. I'd prefer Marmol here, but aside from that wild Rockies game, Howry has lights out in save situations.

  5. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS is what championship teams do!

  7. Kendall's career numbers against the other NL Central teams... (AVG/OBP) MIL: .291/.381 HOU: .307/.395 STL: .309/.374 CIN: .317/.404 And his career 2nd half numbers are .308/.384
  8. link? http://www.iknowpeoplewhousedtohangoutw ... arsago.com
  9. It doesn't matter how good his OBP is because Izturis can outslug him for crying out loud. Kendall freaking sucks. We are worse off now than we were 24 hours ago. How?
  10. I like this move. Kendall is obviously having a poor year, and was dreadful in the first two months, but he hit .295 in the month of June, so he's getting better. And it's not like he's always been bad. In fact, he's always been solid up until this year. He's a career .298 hitter with a .375 OBP. And that includes this year. Our catchers have sucked this year - even worse than Kendall has. He will surely be an upgrade. I'd be willing to wager that he hits at least .270 with a .340 OBP for us. Probably better than that. And while it would've been nice to keep Blevins, the prospect who was nothing short of flat out terrible the last two years, who is having a great year this year, I'm not going to get upset about trading a relief pitcher in AA. I always read on here how relievers are so unpredictable and vary from year to year, yet people are flipping out about dealing this guy... who sucked for two years, and is good now. It's comical.
  11. Absolutely horrible the past two years, and very very good this year. I'm sure our minor league experts can say more on him, but looks like a future LOOGY, at best.
  12. Why the hell are they interviewing this guy? How about just letting the announcers call the game?
  13. Not at all. I have zero interest in Matt Morris and his cocaine habits.
  14. Wow, didn't see that coming. I thought for sure that Hill would be the one to go. It doesn't really matter though, they both sucked. It would've been nice to get something for Barrett. Now we basically just gave him away (and paid him to go away?).
  15. That would be Thurs, yes? We are going Tues and Weds, which I guess would be Z and Lilly. At least you'll be there to see a possible sweep. 8-) I'll be at the Marquis game too. I didn't realize til just now that he would be pitching that day. Thanks for ruining my day, TT! I may need to get tickets to one of the other games as well.
  16. To accommodate ESPN. I am not complaining because I should be able to watch this one thanks to it being on ESPN. I don't get WCIU. Oh nice! I didn't even catch the ESPN in the title. That's great. Hopefully Rich pitches like he did in his first five starts, rather than pitching like he has in his last eleven (1.73 ERA in first five... 5.20 ERA in last eleven)
  17. This game is at 6:00? Since when do games at Wrigley start at 6 o'clock?
  18. Man, just walk Berman. This isn't going to end well.
  19. After seeing the replay, he was out. No doubt about it.
