  1. I'll put a few down but I'm curious what you all thought since you either are fans, alumni or live in the area.
  2. I would love to see them publish his name, he deserves whatever would come to him. Unfortunately, he's not alone in his hatred, he's just the dumb one signing his name. I would hope they turn over the hate mail and death threats to the FBI. I think somebody needs to get a life. There's being a fan (Fanatic) and there is plain and simply some who just don't have a clue.
  3. Cito is a lot like Dusty....only differnce was IMO is that he never rested his starter and the bench hardly played.
  4. What I want from a manager: -Good strategist -Knows how to use bench (I think it's important because of the day games) -Can incorporate rookies and young players -Can put players in where they can be successful -Can communicate and discipline -Not be afraid to except blame -Can maximize a pitching staff
  5. I tend to agree. At this point it's pretty much "Anyone but Dusty" How about the return of Don Baylor? I'd still rather have the groundhog.
  6. Depodesta is a Beane disciple. I can't envision any scenario where he'd hire a vet-loving, walk-hating manager like Baker. I can't either but I'm hoping a "Homecoming Thing" will enter Depodestas brain and he'll do it because the home folks want him back where he belongs.
  7. I'd be happy to have the groundhog on Caddyshack manage the Cubs as long as Baker isn't there anymore.
  8. Why even bother calling young players up or keeping them on the roster in 2006? If Baker is still there they will just rot and once again he'll just play his flunkee's. I just do not understand why Hendry doesn't see this unless the Trib gets upset with him for hiring Baker in the first place. It's amazing on how one very bad move could have such an effect on this team. If Hendry doesn't have the guts to make this move (can Baker)...or the baseball knowledge then he should be gone just as well. I hope that the Dodger GM likes Baker and is willing to take him off the Cubs hands.
  9. Do we really need yet another lefty-swinging outfielder? The guy we need to use is a red-haired dude who is already on the team. I couldn't agree with you more. Murton has been nothing but money since he's been brought up from the minors. Why replace him with someone who can't even hit in both leagues? Who can't hit in both leagues? This post confused me..... :? I assume he is talking about CPatt and it would be two levels instead of leagues I believe.
  10. Don't worry, they'll put it together this weekend. Haven't you heard? The National League's slumpbuster is coming to town. Is that the Reds, Pirates, Brewers, Or the entire National League West? Um...with the Mets L the Brewers now are only .5 back of the Cubs. EDIT: missed the early post! LOL There is only one Orange and that is in Syracuse! :D You had me excited for a minute there until I read where you are from.
  11. I would. But you can consider Rothschild as good as gone at the end of the year. Gotta have a scapegoat and it ain't gonna be one of Baker's boys (Pole, Matthews, Clines, Speier). Speier is one of Hendry's picks..not Dustys. I agree that Baker probably won't lose his job this year but, if Hendry has given Baker the guys he has wanted and Baker/Cubs struggles for the rest of 2005, it may be possible it is his last year....slight as it is but possible if it went that way. I'd be surprised if Baker didn't finish out his contract. As would I but there are a few scenerios that may come up where he won't.
  12. Playoff run? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I suppose we'll see you next spring then?

  14. Mid August should tell us what direction the Cubs are going to go IMO. This next 2 week span may make or break the Cubs playoff run.
  15. I'm curious on how Hendry really feels about Baker...I mean really feels, not the company line.
  16. Prior didn't have his best stuff today and Philly took advantage. The pen did come in a shut them down but the hitters didn't take advantage of it. When a pitcher like Prior struggles I'd like to see the team pick him up with some runs but 4 was not nearly enough today to do that. That's what winning teams do IMO, pick each other up and I'm hoping this team will start to do that.
  17. I don't look at it as catching up with any team. I look at it as playing some good baseball and things will take care of themselves. Now I admit they are not playing well but once Wood, Nomar and CPatt are back it should get interesting.
  18. I'm curious on where Baker is going to bat him. I'd start him at the 6th slot.
  19. Why are you surprised? This is a pathetic excuse for a team. I saw some good things today. The pen did a nice job. Macias had a good game as did Perez. Baker let Lawton and Walker hit against Wagner which hopefully will get them some confidence for the rest of the year.
  20. Nice piece of wood on the ball by Lawton....right at Utley darn it.
  21. Please watch the personal attacks. I'm sorry if you don't like the truth I speak. I'm not going optimistic, when the situation calls for some pessimism. The truth of the matter, is Burnitz is hovering around .260, and has had a ton of chances batting around the likes of Aram/Lee. I agree with no personal attacks. But, OHCF, you seem to be a bit of a pessimist and that was what Badger was trying to say..IMO. It should have been said in a different manner though.
  22. Nice catch by Utley. If the throw goes to first instead of second on the Macias hit, wouldn't Macias have taken second easily like Rollins took third yesterday on the throw?
  23. I was watching the Yanks and Indians the other day and they went through 3 Indian batters in a row without once saying the players names. I was waiting for Dubois and it was quite annoying. SINCE WHEN DO PAT AND RON ANNOUNCE INDIANS/YANKEE GAMES? It was the YES network....I live in NY, remember?

Better that than making random noises, giggling, and then misinforming listeners on something as basic as lightning preceding thunder. I've never listened to those guys....they seem to be a love or hate em kind of duo.
