  1. IMO Farnsworth is a dominate pitcher when he has it going on....but, when things start to turn he gets rattled too easily and starts to break down.
  2. It's the 2 out of 3 rule. Good at excuses and making money but bad at coaching.
  3. if hendry is dreaming of any other manager, he sure has me fooled. Mr. hendry has always liked Tracy and if did the right thing and pulled the trigger on Baker he could have had his very first choice. I personally think it'll work out better for the Cubs to not have Tracy available when Baker leaves. the only thing that could change this team would be a management overhaul. We'll see what Hendry is really made of this off season. If it's the same old same old then we have a big problem. I'm willing to give him that chance though.

  5. True, they are almost painting it as a "this has to be the year" kind of light. Of course, two year extensions in the spring will change all that. Or a fast start by the Cubs. God knows that's when Perez hits 350.
  6. True. If these guys don't step it up Hendry better make a move or he too should be gone. I still don't understand what Hendry sees in Baker.
  7. I hate Mark May. ND will win. Mark May sat next to Trev Alberts for a couple of years. That made May look like a genius. That was good! I wonder how much work these guys actually put into their jobs or do they just show up and yap about whatever comes into their little minds?
  8. That's what I meant. Some guys, like CC Sabathia or Carlos Zambrano, look fat when measured against other baseball players. Bartolo Colon looks fat for a human being. He's almost a perfect circle.
  9. Hendry dreams on what might have been.
  10. I am looking forward to another year of Neifi.
  11. I do not understand why ND is ranked ahead of Penn State in any poll. Voters can't admit they underrated Penn State so they can only move them so far up?
  12. I think you'd have to include Ramirez in any deal to get ARod. There's no significant 3B on the market this offseason, so they'd have to make another trade to plug that hole if they trade ARod. Do you think resigning Nomar to play 3rd would make it worth it? Or....the Yanks sign Nomar to play 3rd and the Cubs keep ARam..
  13. I think the Cubs would have to offer much more than just that package. Sub in Jerome Williams for Rich Hill due to the park the Phillies play in, and then toss in Scott Moore & Felix Pie and you'd have a deal they might bite on. My guess is even more than that. They'd want an "ML-ready" position player, and arguably, Pie isn't that guy. Murton might be on their radar, and with the way the ball jumps out of that park, he would be very succesful there. Would you deal Murton, Hill, and a Single A prospect to get Abreu? That leaves the Cubs still looking for 2 OF's. Are any corner OF's even near ready in the organization?
  14. Ersted looks like he used to play 1st for the 69 Washington Senators with that helmet.
  15. Im sure that if Nomar and Cedeno are the starting infielders next year (which I would be alright with) that between them, and backing up Ramirez at 3rd, he could get well over 100 starts. I just do not see that being ok with him. I'd have to think with all the teams that need a 2nd baseman he would have a chance to start somewhere. I think Boston and Minny are looking for starters and if I were him that's the route I'd go. I think he will have a lot of trouble finding a regular starting job. He seems to wear out his welcome after a half a year or so. Something is wrong. Possible ocf....very possible. I just don't think he'll see it that way and he will either be a quick sign for some team or one of those that linger until the end as the other teams fill up their rosters.
  16. Jeter drives in another run....he IS clutch.
  17. Too bad it's the wrong Santana. Ervin is a pretty sweet name. We'll see if he's Magic.
  18. No good wood Bush....except for that line drive that was just foul. Any chance of getting his dad to do this game instead?
  19. So that Low Fat Krispy Kreme thing didn't really work out for him? I don't remember Colon looking so circular.
  20. just be thankful it's not morgan or berman It is a pretty big list of non-qualified analysts....though Back Back Back Berman is a play by play guy.
