  1. And if by some miracle Miller pitches well in two games the Cubs will see fit to sign him to a Burkett type deal. Millers been there and he knows what it's about.
  2. I don't remember, maybe it was when the great Lenny Harris was on the team or right after they made the big impact Perez signing.
  3. I think he is a believer of the Yosmite Sam Cult. They firmly believe that OF's and infielders should back off and worshop the speed of a rabbit.
  4. He probably reads them for entertainment the way most people read the comics. They could be printed on toilet paper, that way Dusty could get some use out of them. I know Bobby Knight and sir...Dusty is no Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight wipes his ass on scouting reports? And then he shows the players what it looks like after he's done because that's what they've been playing like.
  5. Very, very well said! Well they are working hard....workin weekends, gettin things done.
  6. And yet, the sad thing is...Dusty doesn't see where he has done anything wrong. I FULLY believe that the Prior of 2003-05, WILL in time return. I know I am being annoying oppesmistic, but I really believe Prior will eventually return to form. Dusty remembers when pitchers threw 300 innings a year and darn it these guys should be able to do it too.
  7. Pierre should go back to where he belongs so he can have innerpeace. Go to Coors Juan and ask Mr. Hendry to offer you arb so the Cubs can get a Type C pick. I'm sure that pick will be as good or better than Nolesco.
  8. Isn't one of the rockies' announcers former Cub, George Frazier? "I want Frazier!" I always thought Frazier was a decent reliever. I have no idea if that's the same guy though. Yep, same guy. Just scroll down a bit. How's he doing?
  9. According to game day the assist was at home...maybe he should try out as a kicker for an NFL team? I have to see this throw and who was running. I would be embarrassed if I were the 3rd base coach....may he live in shame on SportsCenter. Holliday was running, he's a pretty big boy but he's also got decent speed. Maybe he fell going around third, then decided to tease Pierre by crawling home so Pierre ran the ball home instead?? I have to believe the Ball was a sharp single. Why do the Cubs always have Monty Burns type arms in the OF?

  12. From what I gather he kicked the ball and the thin air drove it to the base on 2 hops matching a career high for Jaun.
  13. Hmmm...Murton's playing bench today again. Why in earth can't Baker ever sit Pierre?
  14. If the Cubs had a true 4-man rotation, they'd be using the off-days to flip to a 3-man rotation once through whenever possible. That's probably true. Dudes did in Oakland back when Dusty played.
  15. He probably reads them for entertainment the way most people read the comics. They could be printed on toilet paper, that way Dusty could get some use out of them. I know Bobby Knight and sir...Dusty is no Bobby Knight.
  16. Dusty wants to know when the Cubs got the Red Sox closer and put him in the minors.
  17. Ha...good one Jon! Maybe Dusty should bring a lawyer since he doesn't speak english too well. That might work, but Dusty can't argue his way out of a wet paper sack. He says all kinds of things that make sense if you don't know anything about the subject. If you know your stuff you just look at him with a puzzled face and think "what the heck is he talking about?".

  19. He probably reads them for entertainment the way most people read the comics. Probably. Ute....what the heck is a ute?
  20. How about that Dog Whisperer guy instead?
  21. I still for the life of me can't figure out why those horses aren't around to save Dusty's job. I'm sure it's not because of stupid ideas (among others) like this....it couldn't be. It just has to be somebody else's fault I just know it.
  22. From what I saw of Prior last year it just seemed like pitches that used to get by hitters were hit or fouled off. It just looks like a flat pitch to me with little movement. I hope the kid is ok and finds himself.
  23. I smell a Fox reality show coming out of this! Do we have a Dusty translator on this site? I took out some tapes out of the library but I couldn't get past the fish anologies.
  24. Live at the Cubskills it's Lenny Bruce!!! I think Hendry is just as stubburn as Baker it's time for both to take their swinging ways somewhere else. There's no way a newspaper guy and a broadcaster can know more than a GM and manager. This is Mr. Hendry's thinking and will continue to sink the Cubs into the depth of loserville.
  25. I think it's a Dusty startegy. Give him X amount of games to prove himself and then he won't see the light of day after that. If Baker lets Cedeno start at 2nd for the rest of the year I'll be shocked and apoligize to the Baker man in person. I do think that having Cedeno at second is a waste and that it makes 3 bad bats in the lineup....maybe I should say 3 very limited bats in the lineup. If you mean start the rest of the year as any starts without a few off days, I would say yes. I think Cedeno will be sat down 4-5 games the rest of the way, but I think he'll be there the rest of the time. Baker has a pretty long leash on him-didn't even replace him that much when he was doing terribly in July. I personally doubt we will see Cedeno as the starting 2b next season, but I guess we will have to wait and see how it all unfolds. Normally I would agree but that was when you had Walker around and Perez could replace him. Now that Izurtis is there neifi has to play somewhere and Cedeno will have 5-8 games and if he struggles he's wood bound IMO. I don't see Izurtis sitting that much if at all.
