He's the linebackers coach and based on pre-season performance, he's getting a lot out of his unit. Brady James speaks very highly of him. I always thought he would make a fantastic assistant coach. I'll see if I can get some more information for you. Watch a Cowboys game, and you'll see the linebackers are the backbone of that defensive unit. Of course when you have James, Ware, and Ellis to work with along with Carpenter on the second string, it's not hard to coach them into a good unit. He coached the linebackers here when Coach McPherson left for the NE Pats job Coach P took over the reins here. He also played LB for Paterno at Penn State. We always had good LB's here too, he could always recruit those guys.
