    If Hendry can get the Rusch contract off the book for next year I'll be thrilled. He still has to show me he knows what to look for in the free agent market though.

    I don't think so. Hendry doesn't bring in top free agents, but at least he keeps the stars he does have. I'd be surprised if Ramirez isn't back (unless he's dead set on leaving regardless of money). The Cubs also looked like they were on their way up NCCF and this team does not look like they are going to compete in the next couple of years. I think we have to get ready for Ramirez to leave and go to plan B. What REALLY worries me is that Hendry's plan B might be a very bad plan B. I do believe he'll go after Soriano hard, especially when Ramirez leaves. When does Ramirez have to say what he is going do? Does it give the Cubs time to aquire a quality replacement?

    He's no Kornheiser I liked Tony. He admitted when he didn't know some information and didn't just spout out crap just to make us respond. I hope ESPN replaces this guy sometime soon, he's had his chance.

    Why? Traded to the Tigers for Neifi Perez Good move, it saved the Cubs some money and still landed a catching prospect. Thanks Jim Hendry! That catching prospect has 3 hits tonight by the way, including a double and 3 rbi's for Daytona. Very good! Imagine if Hendry ended up getting a 8 time All-Star catcher for Neifi? Yes, life will be good again!

    c'mon Glendon. throw 10 innings of scoreless ball between now and 8/31 and be on your way to a despearate contender. Mets, I'm looking at you. I'd be shocked if Hendry let him go with the Cubs pitching situation as it is. I know, Rusch isn't a very good pitcher but Hendry signed him and must think he is.

    I think Bynum could be an ok player to have if Baker actually used him correctly. He's a 25th type guy for an emergency or pinch running but for some reason Baker will trot him out there way more than he should.

    Maybe the problem is they can start drinking at 6 instead of 11 and have to get up earlier.

    It does help until I see Izturis hitting 2nd in the lineup and then I just think here we go again.

    The thing is that Hendry does enjoy signing players like Bell, Koskie and Teahen. IMO he'll let Ramirez go and get players like that and go after Soriano hard to play 2nd.

    What's worse...Bynum and Izturis or just Neifi? I'd take just Neifi if Dusty actually knew how to use him.

    I'm curious on how many coaches these kids get. I like them getting instruction and having someone watching/guiding them from the beginning until they get to Chicago.

    My point would be why not do both? Why does it have to be an either or situation? I think you should see the players and use all the numbers and information you can to make a solid decision.
